1200 DVT Metzeler Roadtec 01

  1. Just had a set of Metzeler 01's fitted. Rode home this evening in the dark with greasy roads and initial impression very good, instantly felt confident with them. Didn't go crazy obviously but the bike felt better than it did on seriously knackered Scorpion 2's.
The main reason for the post tho, after some internet searching and various phone calls ended up at Flitwick Motorcyles who are a Yamaha dealer. They were very helpful and friendly, genuinely interested in the Multi and charged £255 for a set of tyres including taking the wheels off the bike. This was a boy 70 quid less than my two nearest Ducati dealers!! Once Ive put a few miles on them will post my thoughts.

  2. I wouldn't go anywhere near a Ducati dealer for new tyres. I tried it once, I had a puncture the day before I was going off to Europe, and they reckoned they could fit it in in about 30 days! And the price wasn't very good either. I shouldn't lump all dealers in the same category as these cowboys, but it does colour ones judgement.

  3. How can you possibly 'get the impression they are very good' at this point !? They are brand spanking new & surely would of been horrible to have ridden home on, until at least scrubbed in

  4. If you've ever experienced Linglong tyres you'd know before leaving the forecourt they were sh**e!
