Mexican Motogp That Was Cancelled Due To A Dog Running On The Track

  1. It was many years ago that the Mexican race was cancelled due to safety, the riders refused to race.. in practice before the race a Dog ran across the track in front of a rider & then shortly after that a foot ball rolled across the track.. the race was cancelled & the Mexican venue was scrapped.
Can anyone remember the event & the year ?
I am sure it was the MotoGP, but it could have been world superbikes

  2. In 1970 the then F1 had an incident with a dog on the track which was a contributory reason for cutting Mexico from the calendar. I thought MotoGP being staged at Mexico was a recent suggestion which was dismissed out of hand by several riders as the condition of the track was very bad. Andy

  4. I remember it being cancelled but not the year. There was a picture of a pickup truck loaded with water melons driving along being overtaken by gp bikes somewhere.

  5. i thought it was world superbikes probably wrong like my kid's are always telling me

  6. I got confused as I use to watch a lot of racing & its was about 18 years ago [I think ] but I do think it was world superbikes not motoGP, because it was Julian & Keith who doing the commentary & I believe they only did the world superbike races back then, I was looking on youtube for the video but cant find it..

  7. 1993 Mexico World Superbikes when Scott Russell won the championship because the race was cancelled?
