Michelin Pilot Power?

  1. hi there, anyone got experience of fitting the above on an 899 or other sports bikes?

I've been offered a deal and would like to take it but never had michelins for years since my 996.

I quite like the standard fit Pirelli corsa's for a bit of road track action.

Be good to hear from anyone who has experience of these tyres. I will ride some distances on road in all weathers and will also track in fast group. As far as I know they are the basic model not 2ct or other models.

    TIA :upyeah:

  2. changed from the perelli sc to mitchelin power on the 848 feels way better on our colder roads up here. twice the bike stepped out at the rear on my favorite corners not with the Michelin

  4. Cheers guys, looks like a couple of sets to be purchased then:smile:

  5. Are you referring to the power 3? I'm tempted for a set on the 848 but hear great things about M7RR.... I know tyres are a personal thing but just can't decide!! Haha

  6. Dont the army boys run them On their race bikes? If its the same ones, they love them!

  7. No idea Paul. Irrelevant now as it appears deal didn't include rears.

  8. not the best deal if you only get a front lol

  9. You know I like a bargain Paul;)

  10. I've just put pilot powers on my 1098 after having the road 4's on my sports tourer very impressed so far they cost me £186 fitted to loose wheels.

  11. I've got pilot 3's on my 848 SF bloody good tyres though I can still get the back to step out but that is by choice :)

  12. Guy i know runs them on his big bang R1. He swares by them and been using them quite a while now, including track days.

  13. When I bought mine last year in need of some new rubber a trusted friend of mine told me everything else was a ditch master and get some PP3 s there just starting to square off now 4000 miles but that's my doing, wet or dry love em

  14. The only tyre I have ever run on the 999 and the only one I want to run.
They are so good, I can't imagine anything else being better on the road for dry, wet, or cold.
The ones offered must have been at least 2 CTs, as otherwise they'd be too old - they're on to the Power 3s now, I think, which is what I put on last year.

  16. Your a bit slow mate they brought out 4s last year :)

  17. Thanks for the heads up Pierre, that's a great price!

  18. No probs John.
When I posted that link the price was £116 the pair, seems to have gone back up to £139 now.

  19. Maybe they're 4s then. I can't keep up with it.

TBH, I was perfectly happy with the 2CTs. What they tend to do, though, is make the edges softer and softer for more grip - probably great for track days, but otherwise rather more grip than you'll need for the road. What you'd want them to do is to make the compound in the centre harder instead, so that the tyres wouldn't square off if you needed to do a long European motorway jaunt. But of course, you're tyres would last longer then, and they're not too keen on that.
