  1. Put a new pair of Michelin pilot road 3 tyres on my Hyper 796 at the weekend, its transformed my bike... was on the standard supplied B stones from new, its never handled like it does now..

  2. Yes, and just wait till you try them in the wet.

  3. Ha... Will it be good news when I hit the wet stuff? Is that's what your saying? Or will I need cycle clips?

  4. PR3's are Road Legal wet weather tyres in my opinion.!.

  5. Yep they are really good in the wet. Fitted a set on my Bandit 1200 about six months ago and it made that feel like a better bike especially in the rain or even when it was slightly damp. Just traded it in for an ST3 which has pilot 2's fitted - will be replacing them with pilot 3's in a couple of K's

  6. I put these on the 749 and thought they were fantastic....

  7. Ill be looking for some new boots for the Evo Monster soon.

Not unhappy with the Rosso 2's but thought I might try something different. Was looking either Dunlop Sportsmarts or the PR3's

  8. Shame the 3s don't for the same stability and grip when near their limits in the dry as the 2s did.

  9. Got these on the Ninja, but does anybody else think they make the bike turn slower?

  10. Think they improved direction change on the multi, but all bikes are different

  11. Hey Steve, I'm thinking of putting PR2s on me Sleauville next time as they are going cheap at the moment (cue budgie joke).

Do you suppose they're as all-round-good as Avon Storms? And did you find them fairly long lasting? To give you an idea I get maybe 4 to 5k miles out of a rear storm on the SS (and about 13k on the Sleauville).

The Storms are great tyres, as it happens, especially in wet/damp conditions but I've had a few dodgy one recently and would like a change. One of their really good tricks is to keep the same feel more or less until the day they have no tread and also they've improved the steering on every bike I've tried 'em on, including the 748SPS. Not enough dry grip on a quick bike, though.

    Look forward to your thoughts.

    All the best

  12. Been through about 6 pairs of pr2s and cant fault them other than a slight lack of feel at the limit. They were on 06 R1, FZ1s, k8 GSXR 1000 and never had so much as a moment, though the back could spin up on the R1 if provoked in the damp. Used to the edges on all bikes.
Miles...around 5-6.5k before they were on wear bars. This could be the fronts close to the edge on right hand side (absolutely nothing to do with roundabouts ;) or the rear from touring.
Only has a very short ride on PR3s (also on a K8) that was set up very differently to my bike but did prefer the feel from the front that I got from the 2cts.

  13. That is due to the profile of the curve on the tyre,ie Michelin pures have a much more vertical profile,so turn quicker,if you get my drift!

  14. Steve and J

    Thanks for the info chaps.

Good enough for me ..... next time I need a set on the despatch donkey I'll give 'em a try. Just hope the wholesaler is desperate to clear a few at just the time I call. Yeah, right!

    Happy Days.

  15. Even the road pilots which preceded PR2s are alright, defo ok for despatching on and could be a bargain.

  16. Anyone know how the Pilot Road 3's compare to the Diablo Rosso 2's? Run the Rosso 2 on my other bike and they are a good all round tyre.

    Cheers Pablo

  17. Diablo Rosso 3 lasted 11,000 miles on my S4 even the raer michelin PR2 only lasted 2500 miles and handled like crap,
next tyres on S4 wil;l be either another set or pirrellis or Dunlops Q2s

  18. Comlpete opposite results to me then. Rosso 3 only tyres to let go on my R1 (shagged after 2800 miles) and the bike was infinitely better after changing to Michelin. Never had less than 5k and thats on R1s, FZ1s and GSXR 1000s, with a variety of spirited riding and qucik continental touring..

  19. I use them on my commuter bike, Honda VFR800 VTEC. Outstanding, especially in the wet, and I get over 10,000 out of a rear.
