  2. Nice one keep us posted on your thoughts. Out of interest where did you buy them.

  3. well ive never had any PR's tyres so i read a thread on here someone had suggested a PR3 front n PR4 for the rear, i asked for that combination at my local garage before i had my wheel powdercoated red... Then he asked if i wanted it still after the powdercoating and ok i'll go for the PR5's... I didnt buy them off online, just my local garage got them in...

The first thought they had the feel of grip as in diablo super corsa's...

  4. Currently got these on my Multistrada and recently got back from a 12 day trip to the south of France, tyres have now covered 2200 miles. Previously used PR3/4's which I found to be great tyres, apart from durability and the strange wear pattern of the front tyre but they still gave plenty of grip and feedback even when down to the legal limit.
The trip to France gave the Road 5's a good test as we had every kind of weather imaginable thrown at us and they performed extremely well, being predictable with only a couple minor buttock clenching moments on wet overbanding. Rain, sleet, snow, wind and then lovely dry 20c in the Tarn and Verdon Gorges they coped with it all, I'd have probably pushed just as hard with the PR4's though, as in the past and I'm sure they'd have coped just as well.
I think the major benefit will be wear and durability, the front tyre doesn't seem to be afflicted with the same wear problem as the 4's, as for the rear, I usually only get 2.5k miles from PR4's when 2 up with luggage, although solo this trip I reckon there's still another 2.5k + to be had from it, I'd be happy with that. Off to Spain and Portugal in May, this time with pillion and luggage so probably a better test of durability then.
Can't comment on whether the bike's more "flickable" or it "turns in better" etc. etc, I'll leave that to the "experts", I ride what's underneath me and they worked for me as did the PR4's in the past :upyeah:.

  5. Thanks for the review, they sound very good, I rarely ride 2 up so I should get pretty good mileage from them.

  6. c'mon realistically anything is light years ahead of what we got years back stick it on and ride you'll never get near it's limits 99% of the time

  7. They look a lot more all year orientated now, with slick to the edge rubber. I’ll be trying a set once my 4’s are gone.

I get 4k from a rear and 8k front on mine, and I noticed the rear is starting to look a little worn now and it’s just turning 4k. But think I have another 1000 miles maybe if I want it.

I am never two up and haven’t done any trips needing luggage since I put them on
