  1. I am going Spain on a 4000 mile trip next month and the front got 3mm on it. Has anybody got any the knowledge if it will last or should I have a new one put on. It's got a nearly new rear on already cheers all

  2. Get a new one put on, you won’t get 4000 miles and you will have shit feel. You won’t regret putting a new one in now.

  3. If in any doubt, put a new one on and there is doubt in this case.

  4. Spain is a hilly country. You will find yourself doing some amazing downhill sections or road - amazing downhill sweeping corners and tighter back roads - corner after corner - up and down hill. They have some amazing roads in Spain.

  6. Sorry it's a multistrada v4s

  7. Rarely get 4000 miles from new touring tyres, half worn a none starter.
Seen so many motorcycle holidays spoiled by people needing tyres part way through, it makes no sense. In reality such a small part of the cost.
    New tyres!

  8. IMO, anyone planning a 4000 mile tour, should fit new tyres, regardless. If you believe your tyre has life, keep it for a later time when ending up with a bald tyre isn't going to leave you stranded. Andy

  9. At 3mm I’d be changing it anyway let alone contemplating an extra 4K on top.

  10. Just do it. Otherwise you’ll only be wasting a day finding a replacement on tour and a distress purchase will cost you more.

It won’t last the distance on hot roads and fresh rubber will radically improve your enjoyment.

  11. Had a fellow loose 2 days on a trip as he was adamant his part worns would make it , but as Sam1199 says , the roads will eat tyres in Spain. I told him to change , he had 2 days on his own and missed so many good roads , ended up with a miss match set and cost him loads. NEW TYRES ALWAYS oh and pads etc etc as its a trip.
