I just thought I'd say hi ... Back on a big bike after a lay off since 2008 when I bought a house. I used to hang around on another site (DSC) but it seems a little quiet nowadays. But I recognise a few names on this site already I managed to Px a 748 that I hade been holding onto since 2002 and picked up a 2002 996s My last big bike was a 2004 999r and on a bit of a spontaneous purchase I found this for a fair price and all the right extras Looking forward to getting back into the biking game and with any luck a few track days next year.
Cheers for the welcome, I managed to get the 996 for my old 748 plus 800 euros, which was a steal. Belts, plugs oil etc done and the valves last week, tomorrow I'll be at the Dyno doing mapping. So looking forward to that This is a pic of my old R as I know how much we all love bike porn..
Mmm nice 999r that was. Ive recently developed a real sweet spot for those. Tempted to PX my 1198 for one. Your 996s looks very nice.
Well, back from the Dyno with the 996.. 50mm system and a power commander and 127 bhp at the rear wheel. So happy with the result so far, but the proof will be in riding it when there is a gap in the rain
Mid life crisis here too.... Started about 5 years ago after a 15 break.... House, married, kids..... Got into an argument about the time it took me to ride my push bike to work.... She wanted me back on a motorbike as it was safer than a pushbike....resisted for 6 months.... Then got into an almighty argument so I went out and bought a drz400 then z1000 then Hypermotard then rsv4 and now a 2nd hyper while keeping the rsv.... It was her fault....
Currently slap bang in the middle of a mid life crisis so fully appreciate your purchase ! Massive soft spot for the 996s, had a 2001 bike and absolutely loved it, regret selling it to this day............ Couple of pics in road and track guise.
