Mille S2 85 Shocks

  1. Hey,

I have a 1000 S2 85' and the shocks have pretty much had it, to the point I'm not comfortable taking it out anymore. I've been looking to upgrade and have seen a few YSS shocks here. Does anyone have any experience adjusting YSS shocks, I'm a fairly big lad, should I make extra considerations?

    Thanks.

  2. Manufactured in Thailand by a company that claims to have been around for 40 ish years and to be the biggest supplier of aftermarket shock absorbers. Never heard of them personally but distributed worldwide through Wemoto who have been around forever. Andy

  3. I have a YSS shock on my daily V-Raptor and no complaints from me... the spring was spot on unlike the too firm Wilbers it replaced and the damping knob when twiddled changes the damping as you'd expect. Pre-load is available for the erm... more robust rider. For day to day riding on the terrible roads we have nowadays I find it excellent.

It's often said they are the budget option but I think there may be a little bit of bling snobbery going on there & perhaps (only) at ten tenths riding that may be true. But if you do want to splash out you could go for a pair of Maxtons. I have them on the Darmah & they are excellent.

And it looks like that price is excluding vat - see https://www.brooksuspension.co.uk/ducati-mille-1000-s2-yss-rz362-twin-shock-absorbers-83-85

  4. Robust, aha fair. Price is inc VAT afaik, so looks to be a bargain. I'll do some more digging.

  5. I have a YSS shock on my RD 250LC Yamaha as do a lot of owners of these models. I have no complaints and it worked perfectly straight out of the box, no need to adjust it at all and better than both the stock LC shock and a Hagon shock that I used for many years previously.

  6. Got Maxton on my M900 which is lovely quality but have a YSS for my tdr125 and for the money its great. Much higher quality than the stock item that Yamaha provided and about ten times cheaper too.
