Hi all, I'm pretty new to Ducati having only had my 696 monster for a couple of months, coming from a gixxer 750 it's taken a bit of getting used to! Anyway, I'd like to arrange some ride-outs with others around the area on weekends - so far been in contact with Marc & Andy but thought there may be others & it should be easier to organise if we're all in the same thread So, who's up for some weekend riding, which days / times work best for you, and when can we start Cheers, Martin
I've already said I'll be up for this but it won't be for a few weeks because of work commitments but once I get away from this accursed power station I'll have a bit more free time. My choice is always for a Sunday 11am start then grab a pub lunch before another hour or two on the bike and home.
That sounds good Andy, I think the next 5 or 6 Saturdays are quite busy for me but should be able to do a Sunday - let me know when you're available and let's see how many of us we can get
Ok, very short notice, but I've been given a pass to go and play tomorrow morning as long as I'm home by 11:30am
I haven't. I got away from work early enough to be home by 18:30 but I've got about 6 hours of work to do at home before a pre-tender meeting at 10am on Monday and I don't want to leave it until the last minute in case I make an arse of it.
Hi Martin, I would of come along with a bit more notice, but i'd be on a Yammy as my ST is on the lift with no brake light switch, need new back tyre, need MOT....yadda yadda.....but I d come along soon as im ready. Hope to get it all done in the next week or so. If only I could find a new rear brake light switch.
Yeah sorry mate, it was short notice for me too but it's an opportunity I'm not going to miss Can't you make it out on your yammy for an hour in the morning?
Martin, I am reading two different weather forecasts for tomorrow. One says just cloudy, no problem. The other, however, is claiming severe thunderstorms. If it is okay with you I will text you in the morning. I am too old for wet weather riding, but also have new tyres on so prefer dry only! I think you need to be back by 11.30 so maybe an 08:30 start? Any preferred meeting place? The Shell petrol station just south of the roundabout on the A421 at Buckingham gives access to one fine road and works well with the looping route I have done a few times. Otherwise I am open to other preferred places. Weekends are usually good for me, I just need to work with the wife's diary too. Sunday is generally the better day and preferably mornings, but this weekend I swapped to Saturday due to Carl Fogerty being at Ducatti Aylesbury
Hmm Buckingham does have a nice set of roads. I actually live nr St Neots and work in Milton Keynes. And as Bob mentioned , the weather is due to be a bit crap this weekend. But you'll probably be good up until lunchtime. Have a nice ride, I hope to catch up with you some other time, even on my old slow Fazer if I have to.
Had a nice ride this morning - weather was great Went to Aylesbury via the LB bypass, then back to MK via Buckingham - very enjoyable route, quite a few other bikers around
I live in Bedford and my 'standard' short ride is to go up the A1 to the B645 then go a bit silly as far as Chelveston, sit outside the Star & Garter having a smoke and a pint then back to Kimbolton and home down the B660. Sometimes I'll mix it up by going to Grafham Water and having an ice cream but it's got to be really nice weather for me do that
So, the weekend is approaching (not fast enough!!) - who's going to be out and about? It seems like Sunday there could be a few of us (including me), would prefer morning but am flexible at the moment.. What's everyone's preference of meeting time & location?
Thanks Martin. Unfortunately Sunday Im off to Highclere Castle. I might see you all out and about MK/Bucks way though. Saturday is Ducati Rideout Day on the new bikes from St Neots Motorcycles. Ill be there to see if there is a spare bike to go out on. I know they have 12 bikes, and they need 10 riders. I was there today getting a new tyre and it looks like a case of first come first serve etc. Im going along just to have a look at the bikes, not too fussed if I dont get a ride.
