Last time I watched, they were all running... with their feet and the kicker used his foot to kick the ball
What he said ^^ football is a game played with feet, or they may as well call tennis football Be interesting to see if this time American thingy breaks the UK. Its tried and failed a lot in the past, and I suspect (as it seems with many American sports) its too slow for mainstream. Football, rugby, hockey are all continuous flowing games. We brits love that Welcome btw
We also play rugby and don’t need to dress up like the boys from bomb disposal to do it & wear a crash helmet to ride a bike not run up a field Just saying
American's seem to embrace most sports. Popularity eventually grows with any of them I think. LaCrosse is a good example. I played it in high school many years ago. It's grown considerably in the past 5 years in high school. Soccer is booming, especially with youth. More locally-Curling has been growing. Oympics helped that. Teams here have done well. I can only speak to Minnesota though. I know championship popularity can vary around the country. Speaking of slow, my dad hated baseball. He said it was like watching grass grow.
They're notorious for blowing it like that. My husband calls them the Vikequeens yet watches every game. Truth be told-he's a huge Kansas City Chiefs fan and they are doing well. I am a New England Patriots fan (when I decide to pay attention and being from the east coast). The social part of it all is the best!
Yep I'm going, played at QB for 13 years and international for Ireland. Same old attitude about other sports that are not British, or main stream. Football flowing sport, slow and boring, dont need to play football any more just go to acting classes for diving. Cricket rather watch paint dry, there is more kicking in rugby now than there ever use to be, boot it up the field as far as you can, have a line out. Played all these spots for school and county had trails for football and basketball I suppose thats a girls game to.
I can appreciate the focus, speed and accuracy pitchers have to throw a baseball. Some over a 100 mph across 60 feet to a specific point. Not to mention trying to have the focus and timing to hit them. My daughters ex boyfriend could throw mind boggling breaking balls. He was always called in to close out games on the edge. That was fun to watch. Then there's the catcher receiving those balls, not everybody's cup of tea. What about golf... Actually all these sports require similar skills to achieve success, including motorcycle racing.
You need to watch rugby league fella, the only kicks there are attacking cross field stuff Basketball is netball for tall people, isn’t it? Lol
Agree with you about rugby league mate, but a lot of rugby players are putting more padding on now, witch is not a bad thing considering the speed and force when hitting each other now a days. I get wound up be arm chair sports people, no nothing of what it takes to be a top sports person and to quick to knock any sport thats not British or they don't understand. rant over going to lay down in a dark room and think of one hand clapping now?
Haha! A quick Google search said the word soccer originated in England -you tell me. Didn't socks used to be required? Now? Isn't there a player that plays barefoot? I'm okay with the socks reasoning if I ever have to explain it to a child.
