Loved my first proper ride out in the sun yesterday but I can't cope without mirrors! Don't want to ruin the stunning looks of my 848 but I need to find a solution because my neck only twists so much! What are my options?
The ducati and Oberon extensions are ok ish.. You keep the stunning looks and can see behind but vibration is a bit of a pain:Meh:
+1 for @bettes advice, I have the DP mirrors and although "Chicken Dancing" (moving your elbow up to see through the gap between body and arm) is still required, there is no vibration so you can see what the mirror is reflecting. The extensions just do not do it for me, I realy do not like the look. One word of warning, check which LEDs are in the DP mirrors at Motoscience, if you go that route. I believe he fits stronger LEDs then standard which is a good thing. The standard LEDs that Ducati gave you with the original DP mirrors are shit and struggle to be seen in sunlight, let alone strong sunlight
I'm suffering from the same problem, mirrors vibrate so much they are useless, especially at high speed when they are needed the most! I did see a 1198 at Box Hill recently who had removed his mirrors entirely and had one small circular mirror about 50mm Diameter fitted to his rhs clip on. Judging by the state of his tyres the rider looked like he/she were used to riding a bike hard.
Reevu crash helmet, they have a mirror built in so no head turning required. Best used with normal mirrors as only limited vision but better than nothing.

Deemon Tweeks do a variety of mirrors with just a single bolt fixing. The problem's getting something that works and looks as good/better than standard. I've never kept mirrors on any of my Ducatis though. Slow speed I can take a hand of the bars for a good look, at high speed there should be nothing coming past anyway to worry about. Unless a mate fancies his chances but that's down to him to make sure it's safe not me. As for the Police, chances are even with mirrors by the time you see them it's too late anyway.
I was all set to buy some extenders but I'm thinking a small bar end might be the answer now? :Arghh:
I've taken mine off and used an Oberon bar end mirror , there is lots of adjust ment on it had one on a gsxr too
