hi, anyone got any ideas to stop standard mirrors flopping about or any info on replacements for 900ss,thanks stevo
Moto Science Mirrors Howdo! I've fitted a set of Moto Science mirrors to my Superlight and are far better, less vibration, longer stem = better visibility (More than just your elbow). Downside they are expensive and you either need to use the supplied fixing bracket or alter the subframe and headlight cowl for the shorter distance between the fixing points (Which you could do for any mirror) I did this as I had altered the headlight frame for other mods & had a new un-drilled cowl. Moto-Science : The Ducati Mirrors Specialist They also have built in LED indicators which initially I wasn't that keen on but have wired them up and they seem ok. Cheers Pablo
I replaced mine not long after getting the bike as the oem ones where crap! i just went for a set of fairly cheep long arm ones, they work fine, with no real vibration, (when in the right gear)
Take the mirrors off, remove the mirror from the mount (crosshead self tapper was in mine)......then tap the hole with either M4 or M5 thread (I can't recall what it was.....I think it was M5) and then use a proper set screw / bolt when you reassemble them.....they won't move without some serious effort after that.
