My side-stand screw has gone missing? Do I really need to pay £28 for a genuine part or can something else be used?

i've never needed to hunt for an alternative but I feel certain that you will be able to find and adapt something. The down-side is that the auto-flip-up feature will probably have to return due to bulky replacement. Even an allen screw with thick washers, and a collar-type spacer is worth looking at - EBay is brilliant for this but could still add up to a tenner.
Order a M12 1.25 pitch bolt to go into that thread Spotted this on eBay to keep the the non-auto-flip.]
