Mivv Suono - who's got one?

  1. Well after many hours of tinterweb searching and trying to select 'the pipe of choice' I'm actually quite keen on the looks of the Mivv in black stainless now :)

does anybody have one fitted? If so how's it holding up and what's the finish like? I know early on there were a few mivv suonos with failed exhaust canisters but from what I gather that's all been rectified and they've even changed the decat pipe by adding a total of 3 insert able db killers so you can play with different set ups and gas flow.

i was going to go for the SC project but I'm not sure I like the fact the can is matt carbon but end caps are gloss, picky I know but not sure I'd be happy with that, I've fired them an email to see if they'd clear coat the main body but maybe they have them in bulk already.

so, anybody care to share a pic or two of the mivv in black? Also would be nice to know how long the end can is if possible :)

  2. I'm a big fan of Mivv's......... Love 'em :)

  3. I've had my Suono fitted since April 2011 and it's lasted pretty well and not fallen apart as some did. I like the look of it and think it looks right on the Mutley. When you look and hear of some of the finish issues on the very expensive Termi, I think the material quality has been fine.

It was fairly fruity when fitted but has become LOUD and I struggled to get an MOT last year (from the place that fitted it). I suspect it's broken up inside a little. I am now debating with myself whether to replace the silencer only with another Suono (but will it be noticeably quieter?) or maybe go the SC route. Or just leave and get better ear protection. Anyone know if other silencers work well on the front Mivv decat pipe?

  4. It's probably the wadding inside burnt up, it kinda turns to glass

If you take it to any exhaust place they'll just drill the rivets out and repack it for you, it'll absorb more sound again then and be like new

  5. There is always the Mivv Ghibli.

  6. I've had one on for 15000 miles, no problems at all. It's not got louder either. Recommended.

  7. Im not quite as fond of that one Pete, ideally i want a black exhaust you see.

  8. Been thinking about exhaust change for ever. Wondered if anyone has used SC project. Just intrigued- apparently good heritage , look good ( personal) and an amazing price. Have tried to contact them by email on 3 occasions and no reply. Phoned once and the guy who replied asked me to send an email- again no reply. Have they gone out of business?

Biggest concern if exhaust change-mainly to get rid of the Cat- is the noise volume. Touring is not a lot of fun with a very noisy bike!

  9. Thanks I may give that a try if i can find somewhere that can do it locally.

  10. I like noise personally but I know what you mean, if it's not the right kinda tone it would just get annoying after a 500mile trip to Germany in one day which is usually the norm for us.

its almost why I like the look of the Suono, it may not look a lot from the technical drawing but those extra two insert able db killer rings they now give you for the link pipe could alter the pitch nicely, at least it gives something to muck about with if you don't like the sound anyway.

contacted mivv about past 'issues' with the batch of Suono end cans and whether the badge could be removed, this reply was given within 24hrs which I think is very honest and fair enough:

    Hello,

some problems occurred with the old full carbon version, but there was no
problem reported in the last two years.

    The badge is riveted.
