Anyone still going to claim that Fabio is in the same league as Marquez? Be a sad day when he finally goes! Bastianini might just be the next big thing though imo

Yes. Bastianini top speed 350kph MM 346 Fabio 337……!! The Yamaha is SLOW. Check where the other Yams came, look at the speed of the Dukes, Suzuki and Honda…and Aprilia. Then compare. and Fabio did not come close to taking out three riders in a corner.
The Beast was the ride of the weekend for me . Won the race and leading the championship. Marquez for entertainment value and close shaves of course. Rides his luck as much as the bike.
Bike of the day; Ducati & Suzuki Rider of the day; MM & FQ (just compare where the others riding the same bike finished)
Bastianini for me, planned and calculated, he's a clever lad. Although Rins was a close second. Marc, well he nearly skittled 3 or 4 riders, at his favourite track. He did incredibly well to be fair, but the history books will say he went from 9 to 6. It'll be interesting to see how the Ducati's and Marc go on the "normal" tracks now though, the 4 fly-aways so far haven't been anywhere near normal.
Hardly a fair comparison. Its MM's fave track. One he dominates and one where the Yam is poor and the yam is 20kph down. MM did really good though, he ran out of tyre at teh end.
It's simple, there are clearly lots of riders who can win, on their day, BUT, no one rides like MM. He just does things other riders could never even dream of.
Racecraft is a lot more than top speed as I’m sure you know. & that’s exactly the point! When he goes we’ll all find others & the sport will go on, but Rossi on his day & for me MM always, are just different animals to everyone else. All those saying that FQ has a slow bike, remember what Marquez has been doing on a Honda that no one else can ride these last few years.
Fair enough, but did you count how many times Fabio got past Zarco in particular, clean overtakes? Just for Zarco to breeze past again several corners later on the next big straight...this does not happen to the Hondas. or Suzuki. It is not just top speed but also acceleration, and also not taking away from MM and his skill here but the difference in bikes is night and day.
There are two types of alien riders. Those like Marquez who bash and crash their way thru, and those like Fabio and Jorge who always pass clean and smooth. Rossi was closest to a bit of both.
Really enjoyed seeing Marquez carving through the pack only Marquez can pass 20 riders in the premier class , I’m happy for him everybody was writing him off the other week but now his mind knows he’s competitive so a great confidence boost for me , without Marquez riding I’d find it a bit boring , like Rossi was the alpha leader in the day then Marquez , as said the Hondas nowhere near the best bike but Marquez can outride the machinery he’s got more than other riders , but the ducatis seem in a different league to all the other machines atm, I think bastiani has got a bit of character about him so I hope he does well but I really hope Marquez can re-emerge up the front
