Almost never use the pillion seat for the purpose designed ("no-mates billy)" and, as with increasing age, find dismounting from the Multi increasingly difficult because of the height of the seat, am keen to find a solution. My thoughts are either to replace the pillion seat with a cover (either upholstered to match or another finish -but this will need a subframe to fit) or to reduce the height of the seat. Reducing the height of the existing seat may be easier to achieve but there is a significant plastic subframe to reduce in height. Wonder if anyone has any thoughts, contacts for making or a "spare" pillion seat to "play with"
a guy called ogri on the other forum has a solution - in carbon/painted to match etc...not cheap but looks great...see if you can find it I think they are in 'production' and you can order one. someone else if I recall also has made like a pack lunch mini box out of the rear seat...somewher again.. bugs
Thanks for that. Followed various threads and options all look similar height to original seat. S'pose will have a word with Saxon saddles and see if they can reduce the height of the existing plastic subframe before re covering.
Interesting project.....keep us posted with what you do, if you do take the seat apart some photos would be good ;-) This may help: DUCATI MULTISTRADA 1200 REAR PILLION SEAT VGC | eBay
