What are your next planned mods for your hyper? I am awaiting the arrival of the newly available racing hand guards for my 2010 sp to arrive as well as some rizoma grips and cable cover, next thing will be the ducati mirrors with built in indicators, and then wife permitting (after all it's nearly Christmas) will be one of those sergent seats with the red piping that look pretty cool, and come service time next year I think I will enquire about getting the larger fuel tank fitted. Or do you prefer your bike standard? Any pics of latest mods will help
Hi Mate - I have an 08 Hyper with decat pipe, termi underseat pipes, Ducati flyscreen, tail-tidy, indicator mirrors and the large fuel tank. I will never sell this bike! I love it - perhaps some racing handguard (I kept the origionals on just for weather protection) but that's about it. may need to buy a multistrada as well though, as it's fine for a little blast 2 up but not great for the wife+luggage (fine for a 1 person trip).
I'm investigating all options for getting shorter exhaust. Love the underseat exhaust but all the ones I've seen are too long. May get 2" cut out of the standard over the winter, have to install some new perf pipe and packing then though I think.
Had mine for a few weeks now....my second one... So far ive: 1. Removed the fibre glass hugger - fitted a CF one thats alot smaller. 2. Removed stock tail tidy and fitted republique one....getting a better one designed and fabricated at the moment. 3. Removed standard seat and fitted DP seat (much better/firmer) 4. Removed cat last night and fitted decat pipe - got a stainless one from china on ebay. (Danmoto is the make) took a chance but the quality and finish was really good - it did surprise me. ( although i got caught for 30 vat coming into the country - bastards.) 5. The previous owner removed the foldy mirrors which i really liked - my replacement set turned up yesterday - havent had a chance to fit those yet. 6. Will be removing the sub frame and rear footpeg hangers to get them powder coated (black for the hangers and im not sure between red or black for the subframe) 7. Bling up the dry clutch (got an open basket on there now) but the pressure plate and springs are getting swapped out soonish... 8. Roadlok for security (got one on the RSV4 and theyre brilliant) Thats where im currently at.... Edit - Integrated rear light/indicators just turned up! - so theyll be going on soon....
my racing hand guards arrived from ducati manchester today, parts missing, doesn't fit and looks like it's all second hand, so going back for a refund, only reason i was trying them was i managed to break the right hand oem guard and thought i would try out the racing set, but after seeing the quality have ordered a replacement standard one for £105 from duc coventy, so at least i now won't have to spend £200+ on the mirror indicators and that can go towards my fancy sargent seat, so if anybody is after a ducati performance racing seat let me know as mine will be up for sale soon.
Id keep the DP seat - my own opinion but i always think the sargent seats piping looks like they should be on a 1975 z1000....might fall on deaf ears but ive got some rizoma street fighter mirrors for sale as im going back to foldy mirrors (the previous owner took them off)
i do like the foldy mirrors but it really makes the bike wide, not sure if handlebars are a regular length or if they are longer, suppose i could get some rizoma bars, really wanted the rizoma timer cover (the see through one) but they don't make one for the sp
No I got it fitted at M&S motorcycles in Newcastle, and it has made a MASSIVE difference, so nice to get 200+ miles without constantantly worrying where the next petrol station is on a long ride.
Fitting was around £180 quid - I hear it's relatively straigt forward but I'm not much of a spanner monkey. HM69_Tank: CA Cycleworks 22 lt.(4.9 gal) Fuel Tank, Ducati Hypermotard Price: £622.21 (£746.65 inc tax) [h=2]Gallery Images[/h]

Why does everyone keep tempting me with things I can't afford? ?? Let me know if and when your ready to sell and I'll see what I can do. (It's not the low one is it)?
Pretty sure it isn't, I'm 6.3 and I can just about plant both feet on the floor, will measure it up and everything if and when I get rid of it
Cheers, that is a lot of money, but it is something I fancy, especially If I'm looking at doing some touring
The extended range tank is certainly the best mod I've made - can outrun a Multi. You should get 200+ miles out of the tank as Stevie says.
I'm glad to hear it as I've got one sat in my cupboard alongside a new slipper clutch and full termi which, as the weather has turned sour, I'll be spannering on to my bike in the next few weeks - bring on a long trip through some hot twisties
