Evening all... Difficult question to answer but where would you Monster 1100 owners put the handling on a scale of Supersport to Big engined retro.... I currently have a Hypermotard 1100 and it's an ace bike but I miss the handling (but not the neck pain) of my 600 supersports Just wondered if anyone could shed some light on how they feel as if they're a bit more towards sporty then I may consider moving over.... If anyone's ridden a Hypermotard and Monster 1100 then even better... Cheers
I've ridden a 1000DS Hypermotard and a Monster 1100S. I very nearly bought the Monster. It was fantastic - I immediately felt at home on it, and was very happily tipping it in to corners with confidence. Magic carpet Ohlins, and brilliant brakes, coupled with that lovely air-cooled engine. Worth finding one you like and having a ride, I'd say. Probably not up there with a Panigale in the handling stakes, but plenty good enough to be really good fun. And a cracking road bike.
I have ridden both and felt much more at home on the Monster, it was far more capable than I am and IMO a slightly more sporty riding position than the Hyper.
