Hello everyone, I've just bought my first Ducati - a 2014 Monster 1200 - and I absolutely love it. Just one niggle - and I knew about it before I bought the bike - when you try to ride on the balls of your feet, the rear of your boot rubs on the exhaust heat shield on one side and the passenger foot peg assembly on the other. It's the exhaust side that annoys me most ! Has anyone found a solution - was wondering if any of the after market exhausts free up space in that area ? I've seen the R & G kits - but that just protects the area - it doesn't help with the room issue. Any advice much appreciated ! Regards Tim
Hi and welcome Tim. It'd be a good idea to introduce yourself in the Newbie's section and don't forget we like photos . Regarding your issue, I'm not sure any after market exhaust will make that much difference in this regard as they will still end up in the same position due to the routing of the pipes. Try copying the post into the technical help section as well, that's viewed more frequently than the Monster section, also try http://www.ukmonster.co.uk there are loads of knowledgable folk on there.
Thanks Paul, Will do. I've had another look at the standard exhaust, and I'm going to fabricate a replacement heat shield that gives a little more clearance. Regards Tim
Put a post of it in the build thread with before, during and after pics, as I'm sure there are plenty would find it useful. Also, if the pillion foot pegs get in the way just take them off.
