A common topic I know, but anyone else had an issue insuring their 1200R? My Multi was insured through Devitt. Called them to inform them of the change of bike and it wasn't listed so had to be referred to the underwriters. 3 days and they finally come back but I still had a few questions so back to the underwriter it goes to answer them. Anyway a week later and i still wasn't insured so I went elsewhere. You know what. The 1200R isn't listed on a lot of the big insurers. Eventually went with Bikesure so back to Devitt to cancel and they won't waive the cancellation fee. Even though they are having difficulty insuring me and I've been off the road uninsured for over a week (that I paid for as I pay for insurance in one payment). Well after dealing with several frankly gormless staff at Devitt I'm complaining to the FCA. Insurance - what a scam.
ducati ins was pricey for me. Bikesure beat them by £150. Am I wrong but I thought the 1200R was came out Feb/March time. Surely that's enough time for the databases to be updated? I spoke with 8 insurance companies and only 2 had the bike listed. Ducati ins (obviously) and Bikesure. What's annoyed me more is the instance on Devitt on charging me £50 cancellation fee when it's not down to me. I would've happily stayed with them if they could've sorted it. Oh well I'm sorted now, the sun is out and I've an awesome new toy in the garage. Just a shame I'm working this afternoon. Think (insert deity of choice here) hates me.
It is a ****ing scam and I too have fallen foul of the "cancellation fee" when it's not down to me!! ****ers! I LOATHE insurance companies!
