Hello all, just did my first service today. It was pretty easy except the fact that I had to run back to the stores to get the right tools. But other than that it was simple. But I am stuck on something though. I used an 14MM allen to remove the oil filter screen plug (the plug under the sight glass). however I couldnt remove the screen because I couldnt see inside or get an extension inside because the exhaust was in the way. Any idea on how to remove the screen? I really dont want to remove the exhaust pipes just for that. Any help is appreciated!
That pipe's got to come off I'm afraid. But if they're similar to other Ducati exhausts they come off and go back on really easily. 10 minute job at most.
To remove the Springs holding the exhaust pipes together you can use a Spring puller tool, or thread a piece of string or wire through the loop of the spring to enable you to stretch it apart to enable removal.
