Monster 900 Handle Bar Options

  1. Howdo!

New to Monsters so forgive me if this has been cover (Done various searches and still none the wiser). Bike is a very abused 1999 M900 with what looks like SS forks and handle bar risers and I believe Renthal bars (they have a supporting bar that goes across the middle), I'm after a more stock layout or flat bar approach as the current ones just look to high.

Any advice or personnel experience with different handle bar layouts (Not after a clip ons as using bike to get to work on).

    Cheers Pablo

  2. Ice just ordered some mx converters for my m900 build that allow fat bars to run with stock top yoke. Whilst I too hate any unnecessary rise I've got 916 forks going on which are longer so need extra clearance.

You can get low rise in both 22mm and large diameter bars so you have plenty of choice

  3. Just measured the bars:
    A. 800mm across
    B. 200mm section between the clamp
    C. 75mm high

    Ordered a Rizoma bar:
    A. 720mm
    B. 135mm
    C. 45mm

Did fancy the 29mm - 22mm styled bar but then needed the risers.........sure I shall regret it. :tongueclosed:

  4. I ordered some 'pro taper' ones from ebay in satin black for the pricely sum of £8 delivered (new) so changing to fat bars needn't be overly expensive.

  5. Had a look on flea bay but couldn't see the right thing so went the standard route.....at the mo. Also removed the home made risers and luckily the bars clear the preload adjusters
