I've been chatting to the paint shop guys about "what next" and one suggestion was to chop vents into the front mudguard, respray it and then back line the vents with gold mesh. While I'm not adverse to this idea I was thinking could a step be shortened by getting a vented monster mudguard and using that ? So simply put does any one know if a monster mudguard such as this (below) will fit onto SS forks ? https://www.rsrmoto.com/ducati-600-...e-front-mudguard-fender-plain-matte-rsr-moto/
I can't comment on SS forks but I know that Monster mudguards will fit both 916 and 1098 forks both Showa and Ohlins - the holes line up perfectly and the mudguard sits in the right place around the wheel. On that basis I think it is very likely that it would fit...
it can be made to fit, by fabricating "piggyback" plates to accommodate the difference in height between fork fixings if necessary. I've fitted 748 Carbon fenders onto two Monsters in the past using this method. Might vary between fork types but difference was approx 10 mm from (hazy) memory.
The answer is yes but dependant on monster & SS model year, so 93~98 monster front mudguard will fit same era SS forks, & later 99 on (needs a check on when the monster fork changed to SSie/916 type mounts) will fit SSie forks (and a few others such as ST's SportClassics)
monster front mudguards are a straight fit if you get the right one have one fitted on my 750 ie no hassle fitted straight on unfortunatly not got any pics to hand
just had a look and found this pic not the best but mine is the one with the blue front wheel on the left
