Monster Radiator Pipe Doesn't Look Pushed On Enough

Discussion in 'Technical Help' started by TryHarder, Oct 4, 2023.

  1. Hi, I noticed this today, and I'm not too bothered as it looks like the radiator fitting is long and that it's been like this from new as the Ducati yellow check paint looks intact and it's been serviced, just feels like it needs pushing on further.

I've seen a few pictures online of new bikes some all the way on and some worse than mine! Just wondered does it not matter then? Should I just ride the damn thing and stop looking it :)

    Thank you!

  2. hi
You probably know how they still include the practice of flaring the radiator pipe which really helps with seaing, and it looks as though yours still has this, and I have arrowed it so you can check by feeling with your finger. if this is the case then hose engagement is plenty but I do agree that it looks wrong and would irritate me also.

  3. It’s fine. Any further on and the clip would be on the bend in the pipe. That’d be a leak provoking point then. Crack on and ride it :)

  4. which Monster? If you look at mine (Monster 1200) you can see the two flares that are the main clue/consideration as to pipe engagement, i.e. how far the hose overlaps with the inlet/outlet radiator tube.

  5. Sorry it’s a 2022 937 Monster, thank you everyone, yes I can feel the flare and I think it does have a slight bend so I guess it’s straight to the bend if there is one, ok thanks again I’ll ignore it, I’ve not had a naked before so usually it’s not on view all the time. :)

  6. Mine has been fitted correctly!:p
Put it right, you won't have to look at it then.
