Monster S4r Timing Belt Recommendations?

Discussion in 'Monster' started by Wally, Jun 3, 2024.

  1. Hi all,

I have to replace the timing belts on a Monster S4R. I can get Ducati belts easily enough but I was wondering about alternatives.

A forum member, Exige?, used to sell belts called Exactfit and IMS they were well thought of, but it looks like he is no longer a member. Are Exactfit still recommended? Are there other makes that people would recommend?

    Thanks in advance.

  2. I still use them. He is on ebay

  4. That's correct Bumpkin, I bought a set for my 1200 only two months ago, fitted perfectly and were a lot cheaper than OEM. (Probably came from the same factory anyway)

  5. California Cycleworks have a somewhat imprecise test involving a van with a tow hitch and a forklift that seems to imply that theirs are stronger than the OEM belts. So, if that's too be believed, they aren't the same.

  6. Thanks all.

  7. Price aside, are there any after-market belts better than OEM enough to lengthen the maintenance interval?
