What do you want to learn? Road skills or cornering and handling skills? What training have you done already?
I looked at doing a BikeSafe one but they only do weekends, I work shifts so mid week would be better. Only got a couple of days hol left this year so maybe try next year.
I think Tim at phoenix motorcycle training ripon does advanced courses mate tell him butch in baaaaaarnsley pointed you at him
Read, understand and put into practice http://www.amazon.co.uk/dp/011341143X/?tag=ducatiforum-21 for road riding.
Yes. Very good. The name gives the game away, it is about Roadcraft (read staying alive) rather than bike handling and outright speed.
I've done Bikesafe, got my rospa gold and I'm doing some riding with Rapid Training next week. I'll let you guys know how it goes I've got the road craft book as well, dull, but informative, especially the section about the red mist
IAM Skills For Like/RoSPA for Roadcraft, i2i Motorcycle Academy : About Us for useful-in-the-real-world bike skills.
I've heard good things about i2i, so much so that I'm doing their Machine Control 1 on the 30th of this month! Part of me hopes it rains, cos I don't go out when its wet, and it'll be a good experience!
I think I'm a half decent rider, just through experience - may be some that have ridden with me might think differently :frown: I've not done any training recently (last time was prolly 15 years ago if not longer) so I just want to freshen up my road skills I think. I'd also like to get my knee down (only done it once and that was pure luck), but that's a different matter
To get you knee down ET, you really should do it on a track. Book a track day and follow the instructor for a few laps, by the end of the day you'll have achieved your goal I'm sure For road skills, none better than the cops for showing you how it's done. Bike safe course and then practice what they tell you.
I guess I knew all that but it's nice to get a second opinion. Think I'll take a look at the bike safe route and see how I get on
It's a great course. I've done MC1 and MC3, going back for MC2 (offroad) next. Will do MC4 too at some point. I've also done a track-based training day with i2i and their knee down day. All top stuff, and confidence inspiring!
