Hi. Im back to a Ducati after a couple of disappointing years on a GSXR 1000. This time on an 848 Evo (was a 1098S last time) Used to use Ducatisti as my place of reference and after some Googling found that this site has taken the mantle forward so here i am. Ive also used Ducati Sporting Club but the speed and number of replies isnt as high as other forums have been. So im sat at home now watching WSBK with a 60 plate 848 that is like a new pin now ive given it a proper clean. Its sat in the garage as on my first ride last Sunday the gear shift rod fell off. Totally my fault. Was fiddling with it to get the pegs where i wanted them whilst out on a ride and obviously didnt do the locking nuts up tight enough when i stopped off in Melton Mowbray. So if anyone see's a shiny ally rod, about 140-150mm long then please pick it up and let me know. Ive got one on order from Ducati for a week, but theyre a few days behind on ordering. Im sure that was the case a few years ago? Anyhow, that me and hello to everyone out there.
Mornin M8, One thing that hasn't changed from your 1098 days......Loctite! If it's not glued down and it can fall off....then it probably will. Ask in the classified on here I'm sure you'll get one quicker. There's one on flee bay too http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Ducati-84...rcycles_Parts_Accessories&hash=item46051cbb0c or expensive spare bits http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/DUCATI-84...02?pt=UK_Motorcycle_Parts&hash=item5d30d0702e
I've just thought I might even have one....I forgot, I put Bayliss hangars n pegs etc on mine and think I have my original linkage.....somewhere.
Yeah they do use the stock linkage, but they came with another one. I do have some DP rear sets somewhere too, that I never fitted in the end cause of the solid pegs. I might even dig them out n give them a go.
