Anyone tried looking up their own mot history check on the gov.uk site. I have noticed that 748 SPS models appear as 'DUCATI' only and other models such as 748 BIP, S, E, R models all appear as 'DUCATI 748' Same is true for 916, 996, 998 models. I entered my reg and 2 other SPS I know to be genuine...all come up as 'DUCATI' only and no 748 prefix. I was looking through ebay and typed in a number plate I could find from SPS which is for sale and same again just comes up as 'DUCATI' Even 916 sps comes up as 'DUCATI 916' prefix Anybody know the reason, just curious.
All gov websites run very basic vehicle info. Same on the mot side of things ie colour and specific models.
The V5 document for my 916 just says Ducati with no model name although it does state engine size as 916cc. Oddly whilst the V5 for the 900 Monster is correct the MOT system lists it as 'Monster 1000', when I enquired I was told that it was probably put in by error by the tester and now can't be changed.
My 748R just shows 748 on the V5 and on other related websites. I crapped myself and had to check the VIN, engine number, sales receipt etc
The info on your log book reflects the information provided by the dealer when they submitted the V55 to DVLA to register a new vehicle. It was common for just manufacturer and no model to be submitted when motorcycles were registered.
When I booked an MOT last year there was some excitement as I arrived, however as my ST4 is not actually a 916 the faces then looked puzzled DVLA are sometimes inconsistent
I have a KTM and when it gets MOT'd it always gives the wrong engine capacity. I have contacted the DVLA and they state that I must get a written letter from KTM stating the engine capacity....fat chance so the above comments make me grin....
