I watched the Moto E races from Andilucia the other day and to my Utter surprise found them fascinating ...
no warm up lap and only a 6 lap race makes it like the doors opening in the old days for the Boxing Day sales... 1,2,3——— Charge! ..

I’m not normally a fan of things that go “Weeeeeeeeeeeee......” but I found these to be amazing. They were leaving huge black lines exiting corners right from the first lap and I found the design of the bikes truly beautiful..

My only change that I would make to improve them even more would be
( Mr Akro and Termi will luv me for saying this, freebies most welcome) to fit dummy pipes under the seat, purely for looks granted but it would really make them imo..

  3. I really like Moto E, but I would like it to be an open series rather than just one make. Surely then that would incentivise manufacturers to innovate and produce the electric bikes we will all be riding at some point. At least in Formula E the teams get to engineer their own powertrains.

  4. They're already a very "Lardy" unit, I think the added weight for aesthetics of a faux exhaust wouldn't be a goer.

  6. HAHAHA - it's very unlikely to be an obligation! :)
Having test ridden a Zero SR/F I would be quite happy to have an electric bike. Sure it doesn't make the same noise, but all the other sensations are there in abundance and it's a great chassis. The only reason I don't have one is really range anxiety and nowhere to charge it at home.
Mind you, as a SFV4 owner I now have constant range anxiety...

  7. I know what your saying etc eg it’s like riding a flymo on steroids but the racing is good and I truly think they are beautiful design wise .. A bit like @Exige Only in reverse, rather loud sound wise and lacking the looks somewhat ! X

luv ya man ( in a manly way obv )

  8. I think I’m right in saying the same rider has won both this years races ! Which surely shows which rider cuts the mustard... x

  10. I can see the day coming when the technology has advanced to the point that electric bikes are so light, powerful and torquey they'll relegate their petrol ancestors to the same realm of nostalgic enthusiasm we see today for steam engines. Whether that happens in my riding lifetime is harder to predict.

  11. Anytime I try even watch a review they just don't get any juices flowing even bikes I hate normally envoke some sort of admiration these are like the scooters you see hipsters traveling to work on ! To me obviously some lads love the technology !

  12. I agree. Now excuse me, I have to get my horse and cart out to go in to town.

  13. As well as faux exhausts they need to be red - red ones are faster :D

  14. I posted a picture of the Lightning Strike elsewhere. The acceleration of electric vehicles is quite mind blowing.

Like it or not, the world is going electric.

  16. Actually I would like to see a Hydrogen/Fuel Cell bike. At least it follows the fill it up when empty and get going again paradigm we currently already have...

  17. It seems to work ok for busses so why not

  18. Waiting 20 minutes every time for the bike to charge would be a real ball ache. The Zero has the 45 amp charging plug so it's reasonably quick, but with hydrogen it's a 5 minute job just like petrol

  19. I always thought the fuel cell option was more logical - politics gets in the way of progress again

Cue discussion on Hindenburg and H bombs :D

  20. The electric crud around now is the stop off before hydrogen they need a couple of gouging steps along the way to keep making money ! As long as electric is a step backwards people will resist the change and then there is neanthertals like me who just won't ride a scooter ! Electric is coming but plugging shit in is a ridiculous concept !
