Anyone here subscribe to Moto GP Videopass? Whats the coverage like, commentators etc..? MotoGP Live Streaming | Watch MotoGP Online | Watch MotoGP Live
I watched the British GP when I was stuck in Greece on holiday and couldn't get BT. In many ways it was more comprehensive, if I didn't already have BT I'd probably use it.
From what I remember ok but probably not as good as BT or BSB with Whitham and Haydon, but better than the chaps you sometimes get in WSBK (Rymer and some other guy?) Thing is it's all opinion
Have been a subscriber for 3 years now. Commentary is good IMHO and the ability to make up your own programme, on demand, from the segments on offer suit me as, due to family and work, I very rarely get to watch the racing live. Not sure if it's still available if you didn't take it up when I did but the basic subscription is only €99.95. My bank account got charged £86.32 back in November for the 2017 season. They only seem to offer the full Monty subscription now which is about £180. The only feature this seems to offer above what I have is the ability to change to different cameras. TBH I'm happy for the director to concentrate on that whilst I enjoy the racing. With 18 races that's less than £5 per race weekend. All classes, every race, every practice session as well as plenty of separate videos of behind the scenes stuff, interviews etc. Also a repository of races back into last century with ISTR from the late 0's every single race. Works on PC, tablet and phone and have a media centre PC attached to the TV primarily for this. Have used it on holiday in Europe, laptop HDMI out to hotel TV, a few times too. Can't complain at the price I pay.
agree. Used to have it befor getting broad band, just tethered the phone to the lap top. Commentary good and coverage great. Shame they upped the price but it's still a good option.
I suppose they can't just jack the price up on me. Must have agreed to auto renew when if first subscribed, glad I did. It might be worth getting in touch with them and asking, you never know. At the time I joined we had a pretty poor Internet connection. Was on the low end of the recommended spec for the basic service. The multistream service wasn't going to work for me anyway. You could maybe plead with them on that count and say that your connection will only manage about 5Mbps.
I looked at this recently and only the near £180 option was available, too expensive for me and I can't justify it sufficiently. Check the specs. for a PC as the minimum is an Core I5 Pentium, so I am guessing older PC's may struggle to deal with the download and streaming if you want to watch it live.
I was going to start with this, but as is mentioned, it's a lot of money.... BUT..... It's a substantial amount cheaper than having BT Sport if you're not a VirginMedia or BT Broadband customer!
When BT first announced that they would be showing MotoGP I called to enquire. Trouble is I'm a business customer working from home. They wanted £400/month as I was a business... The alternative was a separate parallel domestic line with all the cost associated with install and line rental etc. What a shower of shits, told them to bugger off and got the above subscription.
That is low and I doubt that you would get proper streaming. Mine is around 11 MBS and that is really not that great. I have Sky and they admit that their speed is throttled to about 15 MBS. I had big download problems at one point which went on for about three months with calls to Sky virtually every day and BT engineers trying to seek a solution as well. I think they got round it by increasing my download speed beyond the so called max, this brought it up to what it is now. Unless you have a specific problem with your area or the cabling etc. you could try asking your Broadband provider to increase the speed. My upload speed is what you are getting on the download and that is very slow for me.
We were on around 5Mbps and I had to watch MotoGP in the early hours after everyone else was tucked up in bed. Quite often missed half the race and woke up with my chin on my chest slumped in the sofa, had to try again the following night. Anyone else doing anything on the network and the picture would break up or freeze. Kids iPhones were the worst, had to make sure they were switched off. Now we have 75Mbps fibre to premises I can watch the racing whilst SWMBO watches iPlayer in the bedroom and kids are watching Netflix in the other sitting room whilst messaging their mates. It's a revelation
I used to subscribe but the cost kept going up as others have said, and since I have BTSport it no longer makes sense. It was nice though to be able to get so much footage and binge watch when I felt like it. I started subscribing when I lived in Spain, back in 2005, when it was about EUR 30 so I guess I always had that price as my benchmark...
Just bit the bullet and subscribed to VideoPass. My free BT Sport that I've had for years, has ended. Initial results are good after watching FP1. Multiple streams available, if you miss it, it's only about 15 minutes after it's over that you can watch it on catch up. I've ordered a ChromeCast for the garage wall TV so will be watching GP in the mancave this bank holiday Monday using their No Spoiler link.
I went halvers on this with my old man, haven't had any issues with it at all. I find the commentary ok, I really like the fact that it puts bookmarks into the races etc.. so if your watching it after the fact you can jump to the warm up lap, start or spicey bits on demand. some of the other none race content is good, interviews deep dives into bikes and riders etc... are surprising good as well. as for devices I use an old 2011 IMAC without any issues and have watched on crappy hotel Wifi without too much bother. works out at about £9.50 a race, which is ok value for money in my book.
Can you and your old man watch at the same time with no dramas (seperate IP addresses causing issues?).
I think so but haven't actually done a test with him but never had a conflict. just tried watching FP on my phone over 4g and at the same time with the same login on my laptop, so different IP's and network ISP's and had no problems.
