i recently had a little bang and im in need of some fairings> i brought carbon nose and side panels which did not fit at all and have been sent back! HASSSSSLE so i nocited an oem tricolour nose cone on ebay which a snapped up> so im looking for the side panels and belly pan to match. i come across this website:Motorcycle Fairings | Motorcycle Bodywork | Motorcycle Custom Paintwork has anyone ever used this company? they do all colours and claim perfect fit and paint qaulity. cheers tom
Yep, got a set. Needed minor fettling to fit, but all the main components fit out the box. Sturdy, and don't feel as brittle as some of the Chinese copies I've seen. paint wise they're good, but I'm not bothered about perfect as mine are track fairings.
I've never used them, but over the years i've spent thousands on bodywork and what i'll say is, in my experience only genuine stuff ever fits and looks perfect every time. Take a look at my album pictures in my profile. That bodywork was not cheap, and i still had to do some minor work to get it to fit together right.
I bought them off eBay already painted it Baylis rep colours. The paint quality is good, but nowhere near as good as OEM paint.
Hi, Tom its a shame but I have a mint set of 1198s side/belly nose and vee all gen Ducati, in Red, if interested I,m in Norwich area please drop me a PM Bomaris
If your going to go for aftermarket bodywork you'll probably find most of the Chinese products (Motocc included) all comes out of (near as damn it) the same few factories. It's just that some are slightly better than others. imo you'd be mad to pay Motocc £600+ for some fairings that you can buy for easily £400 shipped, all Motocc do is place the order to china from one of the factories, if customs stop the parcel your still liable for import charges so what's the point? also when I bought some for my track r1 I initially had a couple of issues but mainly because they didn't follow my photoshop design accurately, they sorted it and I've actually just been left with the spare rear seat unit and nose fairing they cocked up on so overall I paid £300 for fairings with spares. for those particular ones I used neverland moto but there's a good few, Auctmarts used to get half decent reviews off the USA blade forum. sometimes shit happens but they'll generally sort it, just get pictures sent etc with the money you save get some dzus fasteners and 3m adhesive backed heat sheild to line the fairings. Failing that buy genuine
Reading the bone post, yes you'd be mad to pay £600 for some motocc fairings. I paid £150. No way I'd pay £600. I'd hunt around and try to get genuine or by direct fron china through eBay.
From my experience the motocc fairings are very good quality, almost as good as the originals, good quality plastic, good fitment with all the brass inserts present etc. The main difference is the paint job. If you buy the basic paint job the fairings are painted in China and it's is a cheap job and the colours don't match properly especially the red which is more of an orangey colour, this is common fault of a lot of cheap Chinese fairings on ebay, but if you fork out for the premium paint they are painted in this country and you get a top job from a professional body shop and they use genuine Ducati colours which are more expensive and you get a lacquer finish. It depends what you want them for, cheap £200 fairings are OK for the track but if you want a proper finish that would look good as everyday fairings for on the road I would pay the extra.
