Just sat here happily reading posts across multiple forums (uk based) about the TT and it struck me that there's less and less interest in what's happening with Motogp in Mugello IF an alternative race is being aired at the same time. It's not to say I don't like Motogp, but doesn't it go to show that against a colossus like the TT any current GP race pales in to insignificance. Surely that proves an issue Are people bored of it? Just a tiny bit? I reckon I am. I don't want it to go away but equally is it really racing anymore? Or is it all a little bit too much of a narrow performance window in regards to electronics, tyres, fuel and so on. God bless the TT and BSB that's all I can say
I like both, MotoGP is still a big deal for me and wouldn't miss it. I like most of it actually, going to BSB in a couple of weeks. There is no god to bless the TT btw, just in case you weren't sure.
MGP will be more exciting next year I think. Suzuki back in the fray, and it's all change for the rider/teams.
Interesting thread , this year I am struck by the Marquez factor, only time will tell, but we could be witnessing the greatest rider on a circuit ever, but then you see the superb footage from the TT, and I just cannot get my head around what these guys do,it's is utter loonacy, but thank god 99.9% of the time they are in control!to me they a like modern day gladiators going into the colosseum !they have my utter RESPECT,just awesome. Both offer pleasure in different ways, but MOTO GP has gone the way of soccer etc, full of marketing shite, where as you still find the old Transit vans unloading racing bikes at the TT. But I wish them all safe riding.
Moto 3 tops, 2 good, moto gp ok can be a bit predictable, however moto gp with MM is no different from when vale was dominating, or doohan or Rainey etc etc. I love all and any bike racing, bsb, wsb, moto gp and esp roads racing.
I'll concede todays race was very good but still only 2 riders really doing anything, what they did was epic and I personally hold Jorge in higher regard each time I see him take the fight to mm Lorenzo really is as good as mm on his day, I think if he had the bike as good as the Honda you'd see that every race I think the playing field needs leveling in terms of bikes and /or tyres but yep.... Today's was great Dani got his eye on a new job? Seems he's not prepared to push for Honda any longer Also what about that new ducati engine? Pure powerhouse
The playing field in motogp is getting more and more level every season - Iannone trading places with Pedrosa on a second string bike..? And it's due to get closer still. I think the next few years in motogp could turn out to be it's best.
First time at TT. Ridden the course massive respect for what the riders.do at such speed average 132mph lap on what are public roads.
I was thinking MM was sandbagging, making a 'spectacle' of it rather than another domination. He just doesn't get out of shape, wins again, and everyone's happy. Could be wrong of course?
