Did you know that if you download Waze (owned by Google) you can select motorcycle as your vehicle and it will give you motorcycle specific routes as well as calculate your ETA based on filtering etc... What a result - my next request to them is to add a weather filter. Well worth downloading!!!
Waze is brilliant, I use it for bike and car, nothing comes close for A to B navigation. If you want to do route planning try Scenic as well.
I haven't tried Waze. Can you clarify if by route planning you mean the ability to add further points to your route to make it follow the specific roads you want to ride? A scenic algorithm, to me doesn't constitute route planning in the true sense of the word. The only phone apps that can do this, as far as I'm aware are, aside from the offerings from Garmin and TomTom (if they're still available), are Google Maps and CoPilot. The latter I've tried, in conjunction with ITN Converter, and it works well.
Waze is point to point navigation at its very best but Scenic is a different app. I tend to have Waze on if I know where I’m going or it’s an A to B route - it’s community based so you have alerting (speed traps, cameras, hazards, traffic etc.) like no other App. Scenic I use for specific route planning and GPX downloads. By route planning (using Scenic) I mean the ability to manually create your own specific route, with a start/finish and a number of waypoints along the way - like the Tyre to Travel desktop App that’s used with Garmin and TomTom. Although I find the Tyre app and dedicated Navs absolutely awful to use compared to the smartphone stuff. It also gives you the ability to import routes from Google Maps and GPX files links. This has saved me so much time and hassle as I’ve just copied and pasted pre defined GPX routes from www.ride.co.uk - this is done via the mobile app and takes a few seconds. You can also edit the route in a fairly easy and intuitive drag and drop fashion. These routes can be shared and rated by other users. The App is free to download but you have a certain amount of free credits to create and download routes - you can do quite a few with these. I bought the lifetime subscription for around £15. Here are some examples of the look and feel.
LOL, I did try with my tank bag but on the 996 the tank bag was by my chest! It was so dangerous to look at it, I gave up...
