1200 Mra X-creen Clamp-on ... Any Issues?

  1. thinking of purchasing an MRA X-Creen sport clamp-on spoiler for the 1260s.

i checked the twisted throttle site, and they have a big disclaimer advising that if the packaging is open, the X-Creen cannot be returned.

so, has anyone who has installed one had issues with it, and thinks it's a POS ... or do they really help with reducing buffeting and noise, when installed on a stock windscreen?

  2. Got one on my KTM. Really helps noise and buffeting and it ain't going anywhere with the supplied hardware clamps.

  3. Have one on MRA Screen on 1200 twin spark to try to reduce wind noise and did not really help. Went back to shorter screen in the end.

  4. I have a very similar version made by Puig that I had on my twin spark with the OEM screen - it was great, stopped all the buffering issues for me.

plus sides: no buffering, easy off and on if you’re not touring.

minus sides: eventually resulted in spider like cracks at top of screen where clamps are (MRA might spread load better), and finally....ugly as sin when it’s on.

I kept it and will use again for distances on the dvt, as the shorter screen I bought isn’t great.

  5. Just a note on these "copies" they are bigger than the Wunderlich and a bit ugly, I use the Wunderlich on a Puig Short Screen for summer (?) and I have modified that so the cut out is deeper so it sits lower to the screen, good bit of kit.
The Chinese copy is well made but too big IMO, I may still play with cutting that down as well - yet another project :)

  6. Worth knowing, I have the original Wunderlich one and I love it. I only use it when I'm on tours or longer rides though.

  7. I have one of these too, easy to use and swap from 1 bike to another. Its efficiency does vary from bike to bike though depending on the original screen size, shape & angle.
