Tell me I'm getting old but I'm beginning to think it's really not worth having a so called " pride and joy " anymore, unless you stand over it night and day... Came home to be told by Mrs Noodles to come and look at her, pride and joy, a Mini Cooper Works, some B+%#$€¥d had scratched it deep, the full length of one side of it while it was parked outside her friends house ... This it would appear, in this instance, was a deliberate act.. Even if it was an accident, in my day you would put a note on the car saying sorry with a tel number and address, not now a days it seems.. Sad world at times...
You're just not permitted to own something nice in this country. There's so many oiks around who won't allow it
It drives me mad when people do this I have a Mini Cooper s my pride and joy and some f****** opened their door and I have a double scuff up and down my passenger door as well as a nice scratch back quarter from parking in works car park I feel Mrs Noods pain
God only knows how anyone copes in owning a gorgeous Ferrari or similar? Yes I'm sure they have a few quid but I'm sure it's their pride and joy too.. To me it's all relevant, they take great pleasure in their purchase, be it a first car or their dream car.. In seconds someone's scarred it forever.. Accidents do happen yes, but as the word says, an accident.. But to purposely or intentionally do damage to someone's property is unforgivable in my book .. I reckon on Mrs Ns car it's a good grands worth of damage .. Makes me sick just thinking about it..
On top of that my next door neighbour squeezed her car into the space between my mini and the Audi Lucky she didn't get a punch in the face Just a note she is my neighbours daughter she doesn't live there visits everyday and so does her sister they take up three spaces usually with gaps so no one else can park between them Both girls moan like hell about parking where they live then come and do the same thing here. Most of us here leave room for each other apart from these lot.
Where I used to work there was a guy who had a beautiful Alfa Romeo.. He was parinoid about it.. Yes it was stunning but it was so sad to see him visably stressed about it all the time, anyone parked just near it he would go mad.. Apparently when he took his wife to the supermarket he would stand beside his car and not leave it while she shopped... Beginning to think to do as they do in Rome, drive heaps of junk and just bash in to each other as and when.. They say there's no cars in Rome without at least one damaged panel on it!
I'm so down in the dumps tonight now! It's not the money, it's just you keep looking at it all the time.. Would you mind if I squeezed in beside you, bumper to bumper like..? X NOöDs
I'm paranoid about mine I try and park in the same place the girls come and tell me it's ok and the car park man keeps an eye on it I had a chat with a guy that parked right next to my mini and asked him to show me how he got out he laughed and said watch this I stood by my door and dared him to touch my car and watched him struggle to get in It was at reading motorway services I parked right at the end of the car park at night one up from the kerb and he parked by the kerb and my mini the car park was F***** empty!!!!!!! Yeah I stood at the end of my car and he had to straddle the kerb to get out Knob!!!!! I would kill for my mini
Viv, you need to drop your kerb and put your front garden over to parking like your neighbours opposite. Also means you will always be able to park in front of your house on the road!
I'm seriously thinking of getting cams in my car to catch the rats!!!! My luck someone will want them and break in rahhhh
Then you get people who go the other way and take up two parking spaces in the hope that no one will get too close to their car, in a way I understand their actions but it B......y frustrating if you can't find a parking space yourself!
This crap has put me off new cars, my Seat got a scratch across it's bonnet at the local hospital when my dad was in overnight and collected ding's pretty much wherever it went... 2010 Leon. Even the 02 325I I have now collects ding's and marks, needs the front wing re-spraying, again...
If you allow yourself to become too fanatical and paranoid about material possessions like vehicles, you are setting yourself up to be disappointed sooner or later. Relax - there are more important things in life to worry about. Face the fact that the immaculate paint on your lovely brand new car will not remain immaculate for ever. When I bought Mrs 1952 a brand new car in 2010, I was careful to reassure her that sooner or later her new car would get a scratch or a ding and when it did I would not get mad at her. We should be relaxed about it. So when it did get a scratch, we were relaxed.
left the city on the day i found my car had been done for the six time. that was after 3bikes getting nicked and my flat done twice. it didnt help that i had just been on a two week bender and really couldn't face work anymore anyway. didnt have a bike for about 10 years because of this. arseholes.
I'm fortunate in that I could have a nice set of wheels, I choose not to as the inevitable is bound to happen, I run around in an old Golf, if it gets a ding! So be it... I'd rather spend on my Ducatis... Mrs N's one and only " fault" in life, is she doesn't like bikes, not even our beloved Italian Stallions.. So her Jam Jar means everything to her..
So I take it you own no Ducati's then ? if all material possessions are really nothing of personal value to cherish, or be too bothered about, just items of metal! If that's the case, what are you doing on here then ? And if you are, somehow, in possession of a Stallion from Bologna, I might just call the ISPCD.. The Italion Society for the Protection of Cruelty to Ducatis.. And report you for being an unfit owner...
