MTS1200 - Tank Bag; Advice Sort

Discussion in 'Multistrada' started by AirCon, Jan 2, 2013.

  1. I'm considering a tank bag for my 2010 MTS1200.
Has anyone any thoughts or advice on the best route to proceed?

I like the idea of the Baglux bagster TANK PROTECTOR 1585A, with something like the BAGSTER RIDER 5808CD TANK BAG 21 L -32 L BLACK / RED

    Around £200 all in.
    Any comments?

  2. Yikes, change the font!!

Bags connection for me, clip on clip off in a second

  3. Same for me - Bags Connection. Brilliant!

  4. GIVI turned into dslr camera bag

quick lock works very well.. the small side bags on it also are very handy and carry much more then you would think... wallet, keys, glasses, I phone....

not waterproof without the cover though!

  5. SW Motec Bags Connection do some great stuff. Just fitted one on the Triumph that uses a quick release tank ring so the bag will not scratch the tank. They also do tank rings that can have a 12v supply to them so when you clip on the tank bag it automatically connects any chargers or electrical devices in the bag.

  6. I use Bags Connection too.
When the bike first came out I tried most of the bags and wrote about it somewhere (think it might be somewhere in the epic thread on ashonbikes dot com).
For me the Trial QL is what I wanted as I can get a decent sized map in the top, whereas my mates prefer the slightly smaller and rounder ones.

I have the normal tank ring, and an electrical one too.
I don't use the electrical one as it is impossible to hide the stiff flat cable that comes out the front of it, and it is really long (about 1.5 metres). It doesn't look like it can be shortened easily either, but I've not tried.
Thats just down to personal preference though.

  7. I resecently purchased the bagster CrossR and the tank part that it attaches to ( dont know proper name for it lol ) Cost was about £180, yes expensive but I like the fact that my tank is protected from the bag causing any damage. Fits well and doesnt obstruct the clocks, although I havent extended it fully open. I have the Ducati satnav which was obstructed by the bag so bought the Navihalter bracket and all goes together very well :)

  9. Has to be SW Motech QUICK-LOCK EVO Tankring,
At the end of a long ride you don't want to messing about with undoing straps.
With the Quick lock, pull tab and its off, Many options on bags sizes available.

  10. It just fits an iPhone 4/4s, not tried my iPhone 5 yet, not sure how S3 measures up

Can't put my hand on a photo, but if you search it in multi section you should find one

  11. Thanks, not going to fit the S3 then, still like the look of this and also the SW-Motech one, suit my needs perfectly, wallet, keys, phone, shades.

  12. Thanks for the advice everyone
