  1. waw Redding on a roll ! well done... very mature race ! looking good for the title.... Esperargo bit in a dip... also good news for Carl... :)

  2. Yeahhhhh go reading
    Enjoyed that :)

  3. feck feck.... what a place to loose it ! just like that... shame for the championship.... well done Cal! and a Ducati chasing a Honda for 4th ... now that has been a while ! :) well done Dovi...

  4. Redding is a motogp star in the making, and a real contender for world champ....

i was so pissed off when Vale got taken out after turn 2...pleeEEEEeeeeaaasse lets have a proper race!!!

As for Cal...well what a hero...ok, so Marquez put it in the kitty litter, but if he (Cal), hadnt got stuck behind Dovi, im certain he would have ended up on the podium anyway....he did us proud..

With new blood like Marquez and Redding and Terol ready to move up to motogp amongst others, i think Rossi will probably never become world champ again sadly....

  5. Rossi's star is waning.

There are younger, hungrier riders who haven't been hurt so much who just want it more. When you've won everything and have nothing much left to prove, it's hard to feel the same fire. Look at Marquez - he is who Rossi was 10 years ago.

Cal has truly joined the elite. Give him the same bike and he would be a match for any of them. He's gone up a notch in the last few races.

Redding threatens to have also reached a new level. Hell, we could be seeing a British rider win a World Championship. When was the last time that happened? Sheene?

  6. I dont agree his star is waning just yet.
hes been in the wilderness for 2 years and is reaquainting himself to the M1.

bautista is a dickhead. hes done this before and spoiled the race for me. this race would have been an ideal opportunity to gauge vale.

I think by the end of the season he will be there abouts.

I think the honda is a stronger package too. just look at bradl and hes shit

I think the organisers are messing the series up. its turning more into a championship of attrition wwith limits on testing and engine limits etc.
I wanna see mega powerful engines that last one race !!!
    I want electronics binned.
I wish the whole setup was looser like it was 5 years ago
    sod budgets and austerity lol

  7. Señor Marquez doesn't seem to be having these adaptation problems. And he hasn't even ridden a Moto GP bike before.

Austerity is bullshit. The companies who actually sponsor the bikes have never made so much money. Just follow the stock market a bit.

So I agree. Racing is not ecological, and there is no point trying to pretend that it is. You just end up with the tyre-driven absurdity that is F1.

  8. what a load of bullshit re sponsors
    so wheres yamahas title sponsor
where did suzukis sponsor go and kawasakis
a lot of big sponsors walked fiat. rizla etc

    repsol stayed

these bikes are so heavily elecronicised
that my gran could ride one
and the motogp racing is as boring as its ever been.

  9. neither does bradl and hes average
the hondas have a helluva electronic package

  10. I think it's a bit chicken and egg.

You get low sponsorship, not because companies can't afford it, but because bike racing is still niche. It is so niche that the Beeb aren't going to keep televising it. If you're looking for something to sponsor, you throw your money where it will provide the biggest returns.

As sponsorship dries up, the racing becomes less interesting, leading to lower viewing figures and thus less sponsorship.

What happened to the Red Bull team? It's not as if they can't afford it - they sponsor everything else.

The Spanish are obsessed with the internal combustion engine, and as you will know if you have ever ridden your bike in Spain, you suddenly become a demi-god just from owning one. With the highest attendances, all the riders and wins, it isn't surprising that the sponsors have often been Spanish, viz Repsol and Moviestar.

I tried to get J&B Scottish - massive in Spain - to sponsor a Moto GP team, but the decision maker was a tedious cyclist who loathed motorbikes.

You really need big international brands that want to be associated with something dangerous, exciting and completely unecological. Someone like IBM could be good. They are so tedious that they need to associate themselves with something that is actually alive.
Look at all the sponsorship in tennis and golf - the money is not really an issue.

But biking is still associated with the great unwashed for many companies. One look at the bogs on your average race circuit and you can see where they are coming from.

  11. the beeb arent going to keep televising it because BT has bought the sole uk rights in the hope that gazillions of people will sign up in light of that fact.

    it wont happen
give it 2 years and it will be back on sky or the beeb once BTs plan fails...and fail it will as they are too expensive and most who pay for tv get sky. simples

this happened years ago with setanta sports who bought a shit load of fkotball rights. couldnt afford it as the subscribers didnt come.

the spanish are lucky. loads of tracks. sunshine and no noise regs on trackdays?

a breeding ground for talent lol
