I am going with these guys this year https://www.rehmracedays.de/en/race-days/calendar.html Proper live track timing. To make good use of the long drive, following up with Red Bull Ring.
There are some seriously quick boys and & girls on those Rehm days, 2 min laps FE in August for me and a few of the South West Massive this year as long as the EU gets it act together and allows us to drive there as normal.
Mate I was at Mugello in August in 2020 and 2021 Cv19 nonsense is only in the head of nonsense people
I too was at Mugello in 2020, my 5th year there, no problems then, drove down, had two weeks in Italy, just temperature testing entering the circuit, ate at lots of different restaurants in Borgo, and elsewhere, no issues, no vaccines available then. Come 2021, so called vaccines available, millions jabbed and now I can't legally travel without spending huge sums of money on tests from companies that two weeks prior didn't even exist, and are now making millions. Hopefully the EU finally gets itself sorted out in the next few months and we can all enjoy the fantastic Italian countryside once again, and this virus nonsense is over. Just got to get another bike first.
Used a different route every year, about 18 hours the quickest from the South West, Channel Tunnel, Mont Blanc Tunnel, Milan, Bologna, Borgo.
Thanks for that. I know it was covered to death on another thread, but what is the "bikes in a van" CARNET sitch like these days?
I usually run Metzeler TD slicks on the V4 out there lately, rear lasts me two days, change both front and rear for days three & four, better safe than sorry.
Yes, I am a Metzler TD slick convert as well. I might just travel with the road tyres on and change at the track.
Found this from a UK car TDO. We must make it clear that you only need an ATA Carnet if you plan on taking a non-road registered vehicle on a trailer, you do NOT need one to drive your own personal vehicle to the EU or if you are towing a vehicle of yours which is road registered and insured, you just need to make sure you have all documents for all vehicles and insurance green cards.
My brother went through this recently, taking and exporting an RV, smart car and trailer. No problem at all with the road registered vehicles, however, the trailer has been a complete nightmare. He's doing the same with a motorbike, no problem, other than insurance premiums levied at powerful bikes in Spain...
The governance re trailer ownership and usage are very different/stricter in many EU countries. His trailer requires proof of ownership/V5 as well as the equivalent of an MOT to be legally used. He needs proof of ownership or proof you don't need proof in the UK, before they'd even look at it. The Spanish are a bloody nightmare with their bureaucracy, plus the maƱana thing might be very amusing when on hols, but bloody infuriating when actually trying to get shit done.
Which trackday insurance/repatriation companies are people using for the Mugello trip, my usual insurers seem to have stopped doing it lately ? Thanks in advance.
Got this from NL, most people seem to be using Assureton, if you do you need Speed Motorcycle and Formula 2
