Old ridding buddy of mine got stranded on an early 1200 once with the steering lock not deactivating. Now my V4S has failed to spin up the ignition. I checked fuses relays and wires. Called out the dealer to collect the bike and then had one last check wiggling the bars and it stated the ignition cycle. Anyone else seen this. From memory there was a known issue on early MTS with the steering lock
No, but you should not have to wiggle the bars, or anything else to get it to work. Take it back to the dealers to sort it out. Sods law it will pack up totally when you least expect and most need it.
My 11 plate Mutley electronic steering lock failed. Ducati/dealer fix was to disconnect the plastic lobster claws either side of steering stem. As these switch arms had failed (iirc). Was one of many many nigglie issues I had during my ownership.
Resolution! Dealer checked bike and could find nothing, it had its 1000K service. 10 Miles down the road it died again. This time I was on the LH side of the bike and had a fiddle with the wires, small lead running from the LH side up to the ignition button would be pulled and would kill the bike, sometimes. Turns out LCD and ignition supply is a 4 pin connector similar to rectifier connectors. Josephie over at Bologna had too many grappa's the night before and had not clicked it home. Steering on full lock was stretching the wire Good effort from Ducati Nottingham to strip front end and find it in 2 hours.
