Query for the forum, I'm looking at a Multistrada (miss my old 1200S DVT) and now I'm looking at getting another. Only thing is I really like the look of the Multi V2S (2024 black version) or should I stick at trying to find a nice 1260 GT or a 1260 PP. My riding, it'll be my only bike (going back to 1 bike only) and used for days out in the better weather and maybe some tour weekends to Scotland, Wales etc etc... Any views on these from the forum?
If you're thinking of doing anything with a pillion, especially on tour with luggage, I'd be looking at the 1260GT. The Pikes Peak is something of an indulgence and tends to attract a premium price, more so if you want one kitted out for touring. You'd also have the weigh up the lack of electronic suspension against Ohlins and Marchesini wheels. Both of which are an improvement if you accept manual suspension adjustment. I've owned both a 1260s and 1260 Pikes Peak Multi. If you're a solo rider and happy with the 110hp vs 158hp difference then the V2 is still a very capable bike. A bit lighter and maybe a little easier to hustle through the twisties. Test ride both models if you can find a dealer with examples of them.
Thanks, no pillions for me, just solo riding... Seen some comments regarding heavier rides on the V2S and it may not suit, guess test ride is needed or a mega diet lol...
I had a 950 Multi Not much different in power to the V2, and previously a 1200 DVT. I didn't miss the power of the 1200, I liked the more stable handling, great fuel consumption and it was fine 2 up with luggage. It was a little taller than the 1200.It depends how fast you want to go I suppose. Test ride both.
