Multi V4 Running Hot

Discussion in 'Technical Help' started by hill100, Nov 6, 2024.

  1. My brand new Multi V4 is running hot 86c as apposed to my last V4 ,which ran at 65c. I know that this is in the acceptable parameters, but as I do regular trips to Europe in the summer; this may be an issue. On YouTube , Robbie in America put a video saying much the same. His was cured by a new thermostat and a new heat sensor. It would be helpful to me if other Multi V4 owners could reply to this post saying what temp their bike normally runs at and what year there bike is. (Ducati may have changed the ecu to pass latest emissions.)

  2. Mines a 2021 MY (but apart from colour changes they’re all the same up to 2024 MY, so the ECU and software version it runs is the same.

V4 engines run hot. I live in SW Ireland, mine runs in the low 80s most of the time but will rapidly rise to 102 and the fans coming on if in traffic or stationary. It’s normal and nothing to worry about.

Last year I did a DRE off-road course in Italy, 2 days, air temp 36 in the shade, hotter in the sun. The first day was spent in the training field, in the sun. Lots of being stationary and lots of slow manoeuvres. All the bikes, V4S, Rally and DesertX were displaying up to 108 on the temp gauge, the fans were going all day long. Nothing happened, the bikes didn’t melt. One of the guys asked the Ducati tech,
    ‘is this normal?’,
‘Yes’ was the reply ‘don’t worry about it’.
