Hi, is there anybody local to me (Newcastle-upon-Tyne) that can re- set my service indicator, as she has covered over 24000 miles, thanks in advance
If you had it serviced by a main dealer on time, they will be more than happy to reset it now it's reached the mileage. We'll be doing that on the Diavel tomorrow. Andy
Hi Andy , it has been serviced by myself at the correct millage! But have been touring in Austria when service light popped up, local dealer not interested in a re set, which I understand, that's why asking if anyone local has the software to do it!!
I have known Wilf for 13 or 14 years and am content to support his business. Any issue with any of our bikes, either minor or major are sorted without fuss or hassle. Both Carole and I have had an out of warranty major problem that MR argued our corner for and goodwill repairs were forthcoming. To my mind that sort of peace of mind is worth what I pay. Andy
"Serviced by myself" you say. OK, you can change the oil and filters, adjust or replace the belts and chain, brake pads and fluids, and even (if you know what you're doing) reset the desmo valve clearances - just like we did in the old days. But if you don't have suitable electronic equipment and software, you simply cannot possibly carry out full servicing procedures today. On a modern bike with a lot of electronics, it is part of regular servicing to check the inputs from various sensors and the outputs to various functions, as well as installing various updates. If this has not been done, no wonder the dealer is not prepared to re-set the service warning signal.
Yes people, he knows all this, but he is asking if we know anyone that will reset it, and I feel this is not helping his plight
Was only meant as a witticism Andy, I shall curb my childish humour for outside the forum in future. My apologies.
No apology necessary and never ever curb childish humour, this forum couldn't survive without it . I think your suggestion about a local specialist is very valid but not sure how near any of the ones known to the forum are to MK. Isn't Ducatidiag supposed to do something along the lines of resetting codes and messages ? Andy
Pete, the bloke is asking a question and wanting help, and so chastising him for not going to a main dealers aint helping much. Soz.
Hi Cheers Wayne, yes there is a local independent trained Ducati Tech , but he is fully booked Hi Chris
Is the fully booked guy the one on the industrial estate at Consett? Heard good things about him ex Mand S.
The guy on the industrial estate in Consett is great (Mark @ V Twin Services), but as said always busy. Never had a problem using him before and much better than M&S which I've used as well, but understand the comments about updating the software and being complex machines. I've got the cable and happy to help, if you like. Only prob is I won't be around after today for a week or so.
