Hello everyone. Happy to be here. I live in Greece, in Thessaloniki (the real Macedonia), I am a mechanical engineer MSc (NU Boston studies), I own a machine shop (water pump manufacturing for irrigation) and I generally like all machines knowing the love of the people that design and make them. This is my first Ducati and so far I am very happy with her. I am riding her since April and rode 9000 Km so far. My bike history is: Honda Ax1, Honda CBR600F4, Yamaha XT500E, Honda Transalp XL650V, Yamaha FZ6 fazer, Suzuki Vstrom DL650V, Honda CB600F, BMW R1200GS, Suzuki Hayabusa GSX1300R (2008), Honda CB1000R, KTM 990 adventure, Honda Transalp XL700V, BMW R1200GS (2012), Ducati MTS1200S. So far the Duc is the best bike I 've had for every use. As all machines, the MTS1200 is not perfect (very close) with greatest issue the torque dip between 4500-6000 rpm. I am not very confident that a new fuelling map will fix this, since emission rules are difficult to overcome, and after the VW (diesel emission) scandal the mother company will be extremely cautious. Aftermarket fuelling maps will probably show up, but the bike still has to pass emission tests locally (in Greece every 2 years).
Welcome Costis to the Ducati forum! I have a DVT base model which I am enjoying. You have to ride the DVT like a 2 stroke bike then its great! We are building a good information base on here on the DVT - some of the guys have got their DVTs oin the dyno and posted results which shows the power dip. But for my roads here in the real north of England (Cumbria) it is a great bike! Please post more photos of your bike and any accessories. There is a good thread going on - debating best topbox for the DVT Multistrada. Lots of photos and useful information if you're looking for luggage. Here my red beasty
