Has anyone successfully swapped the DIN plug on the Multistrada fairing for a more conventional style power outlet ? I use my DIN socket with an adapter for my phone, but the shortest adapter I can find, still measures around 3 inches long, which with a USB cable plugged into it, takes it quite close to the handlebar cables. I would love to use one of the more compact flush fit adapters, but they seem only available for the conventional power outlets, what we once called cigarette lighter sockets? (My satnav power cable is already in use BTW) Why would Ducati use a Din socket there anyway ? This size adapter would be way better in DIN if it existed ?

I’ve got the ultimate add ons one and it’s worked great so far. Charged my phone to full even though I had google maps on with brightness 100%. Didn’t fall out or move. Zip tied cable as it’s a long i phone cable which is only pain. Looking for right size one to tidy things up a bit. Short one I ordered was too short alas.
I removed the DiN socket and replaced with a flush fit dual USB. Works fine and offers better options.

Pretty straightforward. Ordered flush fit duel usb outlet from eBay. Take out the black plastic trim that holds the DiN socket. Unplug the din, and unscrew the retaining ring. Snip the plug off the cable end and solder on spade connectors. Re-assemble and job jobbed.
