Sorry, not much notice - I’m fed up with the weather but at least it’s looking dry over the next few day’s so I need to blow a few cobwebs away. I plan to take a run over to Buckingham on 1st April. If the weather is not behaving may revert to On Yer Bike Westcott. There is a great set of roads from Benson through Long Crendon and Oving and onto Buckingham. About 39 miles distance. Thanks for the email Ian.....sadly I'll not be able to make it on this occasion, still not bike fit after the last surgery on my leg just before Xmas - recovered well and getting around fine just still too sore to wear biking boots. Was aiming to be on the bike by end of March but looks like it'll be another couple of weeks or so yet :-( Have a good day.........very much emjoyed your last Benson/Buckingham run Hope to see you before too long ;-)
Will have to pass - dad is over from Italy and we've only got a certain number of days to gut my bedroom and finish it before he heads back.
Andy, Glad you are on the mend and plenty of other occasions. Doodle, See you another time. A small group is forming so that's good!
Looks like tomorrow will be dry but cold, and maybe a bit of sun. That's good enough, let's get going.
Will be wearing the passion killers.....here's the forecast for today 07:00 from the met office. [h=3]Today:[/h]A frosty start for most. Mainly dry but rather cloudy at times with the some bright or sunny spells. The odd isolated, light wintry shower possible. Continuing to feel cold in the brisk easterly breeze. Maximum temperature 7 °C. South coast actually looks sunny and promising but we should remain dry! London & South East England weather forecast - Met Office .
About eight guys turned up and it stayed dry, although perishing cold. Still drifts of snow lying here and there in sheltered areas and still a few snowflakes in the bitter east wind; still some flooded areas in the fields too. Breakfast at the Waterfront, Benson and a pleasant spirited ride to Buckingham - good progress was made, let's say. Then coffees in the café in Buck. Kirky had a slight problem with the back end of his Multi coming adrift so a temporary fix with plastic ties had to be effected, which seemed to be working quite well. Thanks again to Kirky for planning the run in the first place.
Good to catch up with everyone today. The Sun's out now but that was COLD earlier! Thanks for the call on the tail light Pete, it would have been off after another mile down the road. Time for a bit of threadlock when I get new bolts!
Thank you Kirky for organizing this and thank you guys for turning up for the (cold) ride. Did we lose the owner of the Pikes Peak (on the first photo but not the second) along the way? See you next time!!!
Great ride! Thanks for organising Kirky! Great to meet you folks! Let's do it again sooner rather than later! If anyone can post a link to the route that would be good! Would like to put it into my favourites!
Sounds like you all had a good day........hope there were no cases of frost bite! Hope you've all washed the road salt off!!!! Catch you next time
Multi rider, Here is the route on Google maps: Oxford Rd to Unknown road - Google Maps Andy, Ahhh, I didn't wash the bike but there's always the weekend to give it a good splash.
