MV F3 675-anyone actually ridden one?

  1. I'm thinking of one as a second bike, the 998 is being restored to as immaculate as I can possibly make it, shouldn't take much, but I'd like to add to the family. Anyhow, has anyone ridden one with the latest map and is it any good? Initial reports slated the F.I. but it seems sorted on the 800, so maybe they have fixed the 675 by now? Prices of 675s have dropped a lot since the 800 was launched, enough to maybe tempt me.

  2. No but I wouldnt say no to an 800

  3. Am in this boat too

  4. If I was in the Market for an 899 the F3 would be a serious contender. Looks wise it is drop dead

  5. The F3 675 is a beautiful bike, if it were my money I would buy a Triumph D675R..

  6. I was looking at either a f3 800 or the 848 evo, ultimately I decided I just couldn't trust the MV, for lots of reasons....

1)really poor warranty and backup from motoGb; who have now been dumped, dealers that are providing great service (moto forza) are doing so off there own back.

2)MV seem obsessed with releasing 'specials' ever 6 months so I feel that if I bought one, 6 months later they would trash the value (as they did 675 to 800).

    3) I felt like it was too similar to my Daytona 675, tbh I think your smart money is buying a newer D675r triumph with Ohlins, it's and unbelievable bike, I rode the standard one and it's a great bit of kit.

  7. The heart says yes but the head says no, it's a similar feeling to when I put my hard-earned down on a ducati which a lot of my buddies said I would regret. But what the hell, deposit is down on the little beauty. If I don't like it I'll get my deposit back. GBMoto are indeed off the scene, there will be new approved official dealers springing up over the course of the next year. Sales of the 800 are very strong and with several more new models also on the scene things are looking up for MV. And yes the FI has been sorted, I am told. Test ride will confirm, or not.

  8. I just feel like they are too risky at the mo, the bike itself seems to have been pretty well sorted but I just can't get over the way they keep trashing there used values with stunts like the 800 being launched straight after the 675, and the way they keep releasing special editions.

Also, I don't think the 675 is any better than a Daytona 675 which is just so well sorted, and tbh I wouldn't put my money on the 800 being a match for the 899 panigale.

  9. If it's a keeper, what does the resale value matter?

I'd go for the Aprilia RSV4 jobbie.

  10. Resale value doesn't worry me, someone else has taken the big kick in the balls for me already, it's only just had it's first service and it's £3.5K less than it was when new OTR. The triumph is of no interest to me however great it is, I find the look of them as disposable as a gsxr, just my opinion. In comparison the MV is about as good looking as it gets, so at least when it blows up I can sit & look at it. I had been looking for an RSV4 but can't get anything that compares for this money, and don't forget they are not without issues, especially the earlier ones and backup is not great by all accounts.

  11. Well I've just ridden the little gem with the latest map loaded. Awsome, no snatchy fuelling at all, beautiful motor, beautiful bike. Believe what you read mcn if you like. Here comes the summer.

  12. So have you bought one then?

  13. Yeah, have you??

  14. Yes. Very happy too. Went open minded expecting to be disappointed with the fuelling. It was perfect and I did my best to upset it.

  15. I going to ride one his year as I've had a call today from Bennett's to say they have a demo now. It'll be either one of them or 899 next.

Is it 675 or 800you ordered?

  16. I wish

  17. It's a 675.
I also rode the rivale 800 but preferred everything about the 675 more.

  18. I will be interested in a full review when you get it and do some more miles, I had a Daytona 675 and one of the things that put me off the MV was the sense that it was more 'revvy' and more highly strung and therefore not as good on the road, but of course all relative, it won't be like a 600 IL4!

I was dead set on keeping my 848 for a few years then looking at a MV F3 800 when they have been out a while but tbh, now the Panigale 899 is out, I think it would be the next one for me, although the MV is just stunning to look at, possibly the prettiest bike ever made IMHO.

  19. Full ride report will posted when I get a chance to have a proper blast. I hope things work out for MV, they deserve a bit of a cheer for the effort that they put into their design and attention to detail. You don't get a letter from Mr Honda letting you know how important you are as a customer in the welcome pack of a fireblade, or an embossed flash drive for that matter. Dealerships and back-up are the only worry.
Trackday fairings are on order, I intend to use it as it should be used.
