I'm seriously thinking of buying an mv Augusta f3 or f4. The 800 has 148 Bhp which for a road bike I think is plenty. It's also lighter than the F4. I've heard an all new f4 is on the horizon too. There's for and against on both bikes just after a few thoughts folks which would you go for?
My son has a 675 F3 and it's an awesome bike both in performance and looks, as you say the 800 should be more than enough for the road. If I was a bit younger I would definitely be considering one. Steve
I wouldn't go F4 if a new one is rumoured as mv tend to knock fortunes off old models to shift stock. Unless u can get a deal to reflect that.
I almost bought the F3 last year .I think it's one of the best looking bikes out there at the moment. I tried to convince myself that the torture rack position would be something I could get used to. But each time I went to try one I limped away for more physio. Bought the triumph 675R instead.
I was flip flopping between a used F4 and a new Benelli Tornado last year. Plumped for the Benelli and absolutely love it, but would love to slot an MV (and a Laverda 750s) into the garage next to it eventually.
I had my MV F4 750 for 8 years and loved it. My mid 40s skeleton struggled with it in the latter days. I sold it a couple of years ago, but should have kept it just to look at.
I very nearly bought an F3 800 also, just felt it wasn't quite as 'finished' as the 899, and also I'm a sucker for the natty touches like the shock along the side of the motor etc! I still love the f3 though, sat on one and it feels like a 125!
Also worth noting that the factory/dealer support is horrendous But then it's a small Italian firm. Arguably one of the best looking bikes out there !
I don't really understand why MV went to 800from 675 as the 675 is still used for racing and has enough power for road use. Steve
Yeah, u need a good dealer! Moto forza or whatever they are called at silver stone as they have such an amazing rep.
When I had mine, everything was mail order as I didn't have a dealer within 80 miles. Time consuming and expensive. Ducati are on a different level altogether.
My guess is that it wouldn't be significantly different to any other 'boutique' brand such as Bimota or Benelli, and undoubtedly better than Laverda or Moto Morini. I'd love to add an F4 to the collection eventually. [emoji7]
