  1. Thanks for posting. It’s always good to hear about good service, as you say. I’ve been extremely impressed with how Ducati have handled any warranty issues, over the years.

  2. Yeah good to hear about some good customer service for once. I've always had a good experience with the main dealers i've used for both Ducati and Yamaha's in the past (No 500 credit though so will ask about that one!).

I've been watching a story unfold about someone with a Ferrari on twitter and the customer service they provide, to say its shattered my dream of owning one is an under statement and the attitude of the dealer is such a contrast to this one its scary.

  4. That looks like Mat Armstrong? Been watching how he is getting on, and if he gets taken to court or not!

  5. Very well spotted .....
...... but I think it's a bit unfair to suggest that he looks like a bent con-rod

  6. See too. Although I know nothing about mechanics, his videos are quite addictive.

  7. One of the reasons (apart from making a useful profit) for which I sold my 911 last year was that my trusted service guys retired, and my experience of Porsche Glasgow over nearly a decade had been pretty horrendous: proven failure to do work they charged for, failure to actually do the work they did do competently, bullshitting about it to an extraordinary degree and generally taking the p*ss about pretty much everything. Porsche warranty was good though, and needed to be. Lovely car, but a relief to be out of the Porsche dealer system. The trusted specialist I was using made quite a bit of their income from fixing Ferraris for disgruntled owners: brand new ones.

  8. Glad you had a good experience. Mine started out good with my 2014 Multi but went sour after a year. At the first major service 7k miles the muffler bolt could not be removed and they ended up cutting the clamp and instead of replacing it they welded it back together. I did get the fuel level transmitter changed out under warranty without issue so that was good and it worked fine. Couple months later(bike unridden for health reasons) the bike wouldn't rev past 5-6k rpm. Exhaust flapper was stuck partly closed. They wouldn't fix it even when bike less than 2 years old. Then that series of dealers shut down and I had to use a different dealer that is actually closer to home. I took bike to them for some damage I did and couldn't repair and they got it sorted for me plus did the 15k mile service with timing belts and all that at the same time since engine was partly apart. Got bike back and when picking it up the fuel transmitter failed. They just put in some fuel treatment. Intermittently had a fuel level error. Then shock seals failed and fluid leaked out, I spent a few months trying to remove shock to get serviced but could never get the lower bolt out. Finally took bike to another shop to get fixed, had to source a swingarm and shock from ebay when they couldn't get lower bolt out either. Bike is finished and I go to pick up and the rear turn signals wouldn't work. Back inside for them to check real quick and they couldn't find anything. I took it home figuring it was the bulbs or something simple. They had the bike for a couple months and I wanted it back. I pulled the rear bulbs and reinstalled and they started working. Got bike home and the check engine/engine error light comes on first time I rode it. It would intermittently come on then go off and back on again. I did test ride at dealer when I picked it up from them and it was OK except for the turn signals. I call them and they said I could bring it back and drop off. I didn't have the time then and it's a 2.5 hour trip each way to the shop. So yesterday I was checking for a loose connection or maybe a hose that was not connected that may cause the error. I was riding recently and it was abnormally hot weather for this area and the error light was out. After removing the left tank cover I find the filler cap overflow drain hose has been torn apart and a threaded insert at the bottom of tank is missing with a large hole left behind and some thick red goop in the hole. Not sure which service department did that stuff but if it was the second place I think they would have called and said they found it that way. The second dealer did replace the fuel level transmitter at my expense when they did the swingarm.

Gotta find time to take bike to dealer to get the engine error figured out and no telling how long that will take and what will be wrong when I pick it up next. Both dealers were easy to work with but after spending about $8k+ between the 2 for service and parts I'm not sure I want to take it back to either.

  9. Wish that dealer had a sister store on the East coast and run by the same people- can't give any praise to my local neighborhood Ducati dealer these people don't like to hear "repair under warranty" not unless its a TSB / recall (obligation only attitude)
Going the extra mile? not mine, on the contrary they make you go the extra mile(s) like in my case 60 miles to another dealership to do non related TSB / recall warranty work. its crazy how these dealers contrast each other, guess DNA couldn't care less on how their network performs on the service side just the sales side. but like other Americans convenience rules and most likely will be purchasing my next bike at my local spot, at least I have a "plan B" if any non recall issues come up... inconvenient yes... but what can I do

  10. Write to Ducati and tell them about your experience, pretty sure it would be grounds for losing their franchise
