I picked this up on Tuesday after a surprise eBay auction win. I am going to run it side by side my 2021 Monster to see if it is a viable replacement. The Monster is absolutely great but I don't like being forced to use the dealer network and prefer to service bikes myself. Also accessories for the new bikes are insanely expensive (this 800ss cost only a little more than a Termi system for my Monster). Here it is after a quick wash. It's only got 16,000 miles and is fairly standard except the exhausts, seat and an Oberon slave cylinder. I don't like the crash bungs and there is some damage on the middle right hand panel, so will keep an eye on eBay incase any pop up. I've only done about 100 miles on it so far but seems to ride well and sounds great.
Looks to be in really nice order. Enjoy! There is no reason why it won’t be everything you need and more, and replace the Monster. But, more likely, you are on the same slippery slope that many seem to get to with Ducati, and you will justify to yourself that they are different enough that you need both… Then you will start to think, love these, but it would be nice to also have a 996, or 1098, or SF, or Multi, or whatever too, and suddenly you have a garage full of them…
Hey, how'r ya? Another '07 SS800 owner here (in USA). Also own a carbed '95 900SS and find the SS800 injection def has certain good points. Keeping, riding both, of course.
