Came very close to crashing in the wet on the Duke a few months back at Oulton Park, so decided to get myself a wet bike. It,s the last of the carb YZF R1,s. Brakes and handling were not quite what I,m used to but it does have plenty of poke. K-tech fork kit and springs front and rear plus Brembo master cylinder have improved things no end. It,s not quite sorted yet but at least it,s in the right ball park. Did my first trackday on the duke at Cadwell on the 15th April since getting her back from G-tech. Had the engine blue printed and high comp pistons fitted. ( it wants to wheelie even more now!) I did have my reservations about the fly wheel being lightened but found I much preferred it. Roll on Oulton Park on the 15th.
